The Best Aviation Movie Of All Time.

Okay it's time to settle this, what's the best aviation movies of all time and that includes Space too. Give me your input! I have started a list but will add to it as I get input. 3 categories overall:

1. over all: 2001 A Space Odyssey
2. Comedy: Always
3. runnerup: Behind Enemy Lines

(These are my choices by the way)
I felt 2001 was the most profound aviation movie of all time.

Always was hilarious because John Goodman got drenched with fire retardant and caught his cigar on fire.

Behind Enemy Lines was just an adrenaline pumper.

Anyway, all of these movies are great in there own way. Let us know.

Best space movie?

2001 A Space Odyssy, specifically the 1993 25th anniversary re-release on 70mm. I saw that while I was stationed in DC. Strauss on THX sound with the visuals in 70mm on the big screen....awesome!

By the way Mr. O, ya got waaay too much freetime on you hands. Congrats on the Lear 45 type, give me a call, bro.

Apollo 13 was pretty good.
Tora Tora Tora was also good.
Ditto with 2001.

But the best IMO is Dr. Strangelove.

Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room.

Did I mention apollo thirteen?
Apollo 13 was, eh [wobbling hand in air], okay. The series From the Earth to the Moon was much better. More realistic.

By the way, Aviateyou, how is your list a list of the "best?" Looks to me like it's a list of all of 'em...

I thought the book that they did it from was better. A Man on the Moon by Andren Chakin.

I agree...but the series stuck to the book pretty well...in detail, if not in chronology!

I didn't like the acting. Especially how they used actors to portray astronauts getting interviewed. Why not use the real thing?
