Does Pinnacle fly you to the interview or do you have to get to Memphis on your own?
Do they backpay you for training after you complete training or is there no pay at all?

I am getting unemployment right now and was informed that if there is no pay during job training I may be allowed to continue getting unemployment.

Thanks

Paid to Memphis, but NOT for training

D_G,
I was offered an interview at the Air Inc. conference in DFW in Jan. She sent me a packet with reservations made on Northwest to get to Memphis. This was taken care of. The hotel, once there, was NOT. They do not pay you ANYTHING until you pass your checkride. No, they do not "back pay" you either. These all were my concerns as I was eager to fly for them until I found out, with a wife and four kiddoes, that I could not afford to fly for them!! Crazy, huh??

Thanks for the info, now I need to find out if the training is more that 8 hours a day, the unemployment rep I spoke with said if the training is less than 8 hours a day I can keep the unemployment, but if it is 8 hours than I cannot, doesn't sound right to me, I'm hoping she didn't have the correct info.

The classes are all scheduled to be 8 hours. Actual is less than 8, but 8 hours is always documented because there are a certain number of hours required by the FAA.

Once you get to the CPTs and Sim, the schedules are less that 8 hours. Maybe you can get the unemployment office on averge class times.

In my class a few years ago.. we had several people on unemployment and training for Pinnacle.

Since your "not hired" (until checkride) the whole issue of 8 hours and all the other regulations really does not apply. Generally, in those training issue's and unemployment you are netting some for of renumberation, not at pinnacle.

NO back pay, no per diem, no hotel, no meals (except when the union buys).

They non-rev you to and from the interview, the furthest person (from MEM) usually is interviewed first OR the person with the first outbound back home (usally the furthest again).

Training.. rarely more than 8 hours a day, maybe ONE day it may go over but the next day is usually much shorter. If you take away all the smoke and coffee breaks.. probably 5 hours a day...

Does Pinnacle have CRJ FTD's that I'm assuming you take 5-6 flights in before the actual sim training? Just curious how their training curriculum is scheduled. Indoc, systems, ftds, sims, fams, ioe?

Week 1. Basic Indoc
2. CRM, Hazmat, Security, Jet Upset
3. Systems
4. Systems
5. System Test on "Super Tuesday"

After all that you have an oral, and 3-4 days of CPT then I think its 11 sim sessions including loft and check ride.
