ALPA must have gotten wind that some Jr NWA guys think a USAIR type revolt would be better for them because of the federal law on seniority that was passed in Dec.

Hey Schwanker,
I can say I was pretty firmly against the merger until I sat in on a DL MEC roadshow today. The financials presented by the ALPA finace guy were pretty compelling.

These are the same financial advisor's that gave the compelling presentations that we had to take a 40% pay cut at NW, and almost as much at DAL + dump your pensions.

Of course a combined DAL/NW success feather in their cap will provide more dues dollars to ALPA than if the merger falls apart or of one of us goes the USAPA route. They need a successful merger more than we do.

Hell, they need the dues so Prater can start lobbying for age 70 retirement.

Pardon my cynicism, but ALPA is hardly an impartial observer and without conflicts of interest.

Want to really do your due diligence and show some unity? - Have the two MEC's join forces and contract out an independent financial analysis of the merger benefits
