Cobra, I understood and appreciated your post.

What I meant by "missing out" was the nice dinner they took us to and the other goodies during indoc. I don't know how they could run all of NWA through that orientation. The President of DAL back then, Whitehurst, came by to meet and greet, etc.

A "welcome aboard" DVD doesn't have the same feel as sharing a glass of your favorite beverage while the wives chat it up.

I think you will find working with the former Nwa capts. very pleasant. I have always said that the pilot group at Nwa was the least pretentious most blue collar of the legacies.

I would have to concur. As soon as we get on the flight deck the ties are off and everyone becomes friends getting a job done. Very pleasant atmosphere.

How quickly they forget....

Re: Mike Campbell EVP of "Human Resources"...You couldn't be FURTHER from "pilot friendly" if you tried.
If RA really cared this guy woud have been gone LONG ago. Ford & Harrison is ONLY brought on to screw pilots out of wages and benefits...That is the ONLY reason they are brought on. Now you're talking about a FOUNDING member of that firm. Yeaaah
Read and learn what you are up against.:

This is my third airline and it has the best corporate culture by a mile. I have yet to witness management by intimidation, something which was so prevalent at my previous gigs. The atmosphere is one of mutual respect and recognition. Everyone from the sim instructors to the line check airman to the chiefs treated me with the utmost respect from day one my first year.

I have yet to meet a 5 per-center here.

Quite true Goggles.
I have to say that the ones who choose not to make a difference are few and far between. If there are any I have not seen them in the pilot ranks. Now that is not to say that many are sick and tired of many things, they just do not air their dirty laundry to the flying public.
