Customs @ TEB

i'm sure this topic has already been visited, but i will pose the question nonetheless...

has anyone recently (within the past 2 months) cleared customs @ Jet Aviation TEB?? can anyone confirm if Customs now has a facility there?? were there any issues with efficiency of Customs? (now there's a question!) does anyone find clearing @ Atlantic to be quicker? Our customer prefers Jet>

in the past, it was my understanding that Customs goes to Jet on request to clear the aircraft and non-US citizens were transported to the Atlantic Aviation facility to be photographed and fingerprinted.

can anyone shed some light on this?? thank you all in advance for your assistance.

TEB Customs

Have never had any foreign pax onboard, but yes, customs will meet aircraft on the ramp at Jet Aviation. Notify them in advance. They do this quite often.

thanks, sloto...i clear @ TEB very often just never @ Jet. There's always a lil anxiety on a first time type situation such as this.

The challenge of arriving at TEB from afar is not clearing customs, it's keeping the airplane on the runway during landing. At least this is what recent history demonstrates.

Definitly use Jet Av.
Get a pax manifest Names Dobs Passport info etc faxed to the Jet Av ICE office pref before leaving CONUS. Get enough info their way prior to the trip and yall be right as rain clarance

sounds to me the usual stuff you'd do on any international arrival...our first time using jet to clear customs so i'll let you guys know how it goes. any other comments please keep em coming, otherwise thanks to all for the help

Just make sure they come to you and not the opposite. After another long 14 hr day, I brain farted and opened the door and stepped out of the acft. All of a sudden this big a$$ customs guy was yelling at me to get back in the acft. So just be careful there and be nice to them as you should all customs agents. You know, yes sir no sir etc.

sounds like a customs vet that most TEB users know very well, but i won't mention any names...i never had any problems with him
