Congrats Hose! I got the call today also. Interviewed the second week of December. The wait was excrutiating, but I guess it's all good now.

Don't call my sister a chicky. Just kidding. She's on vacation for awhile. When I saw 87 octane hit $2.00 here today this is how it made me feel.

<------------------------------------------

30 bucks for a fill up. Geez!

Welcome aboard!!

Can't wait for some more people below me.. The 6 below me right now isn't anywhere near enough!!! :)

Hope I get into this one!

I interviewed mid-Feb. I don't know where I stand in the pool, but hopefully I'll see you guys in June!

Congrats

Good to hear. Did Sharon tell you guys whether there were any classes scheduled after 6/14?

We'll look forward to seeing you guys on the line this summer. It's a great place to be.

I've only heard a class in June and a class in July, then that's it. Of course rumors are like a-holes...everyone has one.

Welcome to the party! During indoc, when you get your tour of the pilot's lounge (where the Vfiles and computer terminals are located) look around for the RJDC display and pick up some free materials. Then, after your checkride, you can start reading up on why you are able to have this job.

Last I heard during sim was another 130-150 to go through this year for the addition 6.

Where did you hear this? I find it hard to believe. I heard that we are fat on pilots now, and a chief pilot a few weeks ago during my lovely recurrent told us 2 more new hire classes this year and that's it. The COLA's that we have out now are for about 20 FO's a day. Of course they love to run us a min staffing....

I hope your rumor is true, but another 130 pilots this year seems hard to believe.

Anyone else?

Simple

6 more airplanes this year equal how many pilots?

If they were only running two more classes this year, then why do we have a pool of 50 or so and continue to interview on a regular basis?

"6 more airplanes this year equal how many pilots? "

5.5 crews per aircraft equals 11 pilots per additional aircraft.

6 aircraft x 11 pilots equals 66 additional pilots, plus whatever might be needed for attrition (lost medical, changed career path, etc....not many for retirement)

66 to fill those 6 airplanes... plus additional to fill seats opened up by the upgrades needed as a result of those airplanes.

We'll see what happens..

Check out the July COLA (Complany Offered Leaves of Absence):

DATE CA FO
July 1, 10 4
July 2, 10 4
July 3, 10 4
July 4, 10 4
July 5, 10 4
July 6, 12 6
July 7, 18 6
July 8, 18 6
July 9, 20 8
July 10, 22 10
July 11, 22 10
July 12, 22 10
July 13, 22 10
July 14, 26 12
July 15, 26 12
July 16, 26 12
July 17, 28 12
July 18, 28 12
...and so on...

You get the idea. Those are a lot of extra pilots everyday. That is for the CRJ50, but they could always displace pilots to the CRJ70. I find it hard to believe that we will be hiring hundreds more for 6 airplanes. Unless we are getting more  Interesting thing is that we had a lot of extra FO's last month, in July we have a lot fo extra captains.

Anyways....

Well, I just talked to the HR dept. and they are delaying class for just a week...not sure why.

Also, I asked them about more interviews for the future and she said that they are going to have 4 more interview dates next month. Who knows whats goin' on?!?!
