I live about an hour from JST. It seems to be the consensus that I will not have trouble getting that base.

Also, could a current Colgan pilot tell me how many hours on average they get paid for each month. I know that 75 is the minimum, but I want to know if the avg pilot gets paid for more than that amount of credit hours.

Thanks.

Working in lebanon in freaking november i would walk outside and my ballsac would constrict so fast and violently that i could feel it and hear it. Cold up there.

Nice on man.... Nice one!!! Spend a couple winters in PQI and then talk to me about shrinkage.

I posted that for you and a few other members of my loyal following. Would you believe that whole time i never made it up to PQI?

Here's another question: How is it decided whether you get the Saab or the 1900?

I think the ones that initially fail the drug test are sent to the Beech. Don't quote me on that though. If you checked the box about felony convictions, you are headed to the 340.

Interesting, I checked the "10 inches or greater" box. I started on the beech.

Aircraft assignment is based on experience level, company needs, and most importantly the sim eval during the interview. Those who perform better in the sim get the Saab.

Wouldn't it be the other way around as the Beech is much more difficult to fly than the Saab? No offense to you Saab guys.

I'm sure you did!!!

PQI was actually the best base I flew out of, and I flew out of a few.... Let's see how my memory is. Started in PWM, went to LEB, then AUG, then back to PWM, then went to ALB, then ITH, then HYA, then PQI, then HYA again, then back to PQI, and finally back to HYA where my resignation was sent from. Only once did I ever request a base change.

Didn't you do SYR at one point? Actually when i was there they put the weak ones in the saab because they wouldn't upgrade right away. I wouldn't be suprised if they changed that with all the saab growth, and so many FO's busting the saab upgrade.

I knew I would forget one..... or two. Put SYR in between ALB and ITH.

Beech rocks...

That's what I always understood it to be. You actually have to fly and with any time in the logbook worth mentioning, you were going to upgrade very quickly. Stronger ones in the Beech. Now that I fly the Saab, I see that that's true.

I'll chime in with...
HYA-ALB-HEF-SYR-HEF-PQI-JST-LNS
all in one year with only one request to move.
By the way the B1900 is where they put the stronger pilots just like ACA when I started in the J32.

I hear they put ya where they need ya, stronger ones in the beech, and as for a base...look on the website. Every out-station you see is pretty much a base (cept for the Houston stuff). They could put you anywhere..... be ready to drink the cool-aid, which, given my experience, has been pretty damn good. Lots would disagree though...

me 4 one

I don't think passing upgrade has anything to do with what aircraft you're flying. You just have to know the books and think and act like the PIC. The success rate for Saab upgrades is back where it was.

4 Beech upgrades just announced. I'll bet you Saab guys Heinekens to Bud Lights that all 4 pass.

2 out of the 4 will take the type ride with a chew in. 1 out of 4 will be so bold as to be spitting right in front of the check pilot in the oral.

Logbook? How are you going to explain those entries of 8+ hours you've got in there 4x in one month? I say, SIC ain't worth the ink (or time) it takes to write it down. I have more than a 1 year gap in my book right now. When I upgrade, I'm going to figure out how much time I have in the Saab at that point and make one entry for all 1384.5 hours and call it good... If they don't like it, I scratch it out... SIC time sucks.

How does per diem$ @ IAH compare to other regional since you have overnites? I guess it would be a lot better then the NE with none.

Yeah dont log SIC time, who needs it right! That would be great to see the check airman open up a can of asswhip on yah!
