COEX Pool?

Does anyone know what COEX management is going to do with all the ones who were in training and awaiting class before 9-11?

i think all but <100 have been sent recall notices. with the rate of no-thank-yous, those remaining will probably be receiving recall notices very soon. hence, hiring will begin shortly thereafter. but, yeah, i heard the same thing, the "pool" guys will have to reapply.

I think everyone has been sent recall notices. I talked with a buddy today who was in training. He was trying to bypass the recall as long as possible but he said they have notified everyone and was told hiring starting up Jan 04. But what do I know

I had heard from some buddies that those classes were boozing it up so much that they won't be invited back.

I had interviewed in june of 01' and was awaiting class date of oct. 01' when everything hit the fan. I contacted the company (Jim Nides-VP of Ops) and CAL ALPA (Meghan O'neil) about being able to still go to work there when they recalled everyone. This was a little less than a year ago and they both said people like me would be contacted once everyone w/ a seniority # had been called back and before they hired off the street. Providing you kept them updated of your address and phone #. You would have to undergo an "informal interview" to determine if you had still been flying over the 2 years and to show you had no accidents/ violations etc.
The problem (at least at that time) was that there was no one w/ which to keep your address updated b/c they had dismantled the pilot recruiting dept. Mr. Nides gave me this email to update my stuff: Mark Silver (have no idea who he is)- [email protected]
The union also will keep your stuff current for a call if you contact Meghan O'[email protected]

I have since hired on @ another carrier and am not interested but hopefully this info helps someone else out who is still looking for work. Best of luck.

Yup Mike that sounds about right. even though now they are put in in the Sheraton which is nice but not close to the sleasy old tittty joint "ricks" where I lost a few dollars and gained a few diseases that Ajax won't take off.. God bless those girls...Sigh... now where is my Valtrex??
