Do you work there?

Sounds like it, but as an agent or something. He says that "some of us" don't have the ability to change things. Sounds like he wants the pilots to carry his end of the log. I would wonder why he doesn't ask those who work there in his capacity to all go out on an illegal strike and get canned for it.

Probably because he knows what happened to the air traffic controllers strike back in '81...A lot of good that did for everyone Reagan canned. When I was with COEX we shot down the IAM vote twice...they never wanted to organize. Seems to me that the tune is starting to change a bit.

Burn baby, burn is a bit heavy- especially if you work there in any capacity. However, I hope you guys keep standing up for yourselves (and the rest of the industry) by not accepting a crappy contract. You guys are one of the biggest and one of the most profitable- you seem to have earned a raise. Keep raising the bar since many us are going to be stuck at the regional level, we must all stand up and move it forward. Please follow the lead of CHQ and Mesaba in getting better and better contracts in the last year.

Coex does not care about its people...period. Coex is so political its not what you know but who you know!!! i know of someone who left the company because of a station closing and because the person knew someone higher up in coex came back within 2 months(they did not like the airline coming in to take over)without loss of pay or seniorty. My point I am trying to make is they are hiring pilots right now and just some friendly advice: whatever you do cya!!! do not trust anyone at coex management because when it comes time they will say they never said or advised you a certain way. make a copy of everything and use e-mail and save them. Start yourself a cya file at home and prepare for a political environment that is very cut throat at the top. Make no waves bend over and take it and everything will be fine.... Management promised a pay raise for the agents and of course did not give them this year. I know someone who was a supervisor and did not get a pay raise at all last year(after managment told him he would get a good pay raise) gave him an insulting .25 cent raise. He has left and transfered to cal...

and um I know someone who's cousins friends brothers former roomate works for the company!

and yes unfortunaly I hope the pilots do carry the "torch" to change in the company. The agents and other non-flying employees do not have the power of the pilots and mech's nor the organization. Mang. will black ball someone for trying to start a union in this company. They promise no scheduled pay raises etc.

Wow, that's a grammatical train wreck. I've never seen so many run-on sentences.

CHQ? CHQ threw thier FOs under the bus. Don't do that.

Hold the line so you get respect from yourselves and your fellow pilots. Get organized and volunteer to fight the good fight. Understand now, how far you are willing to take it. And do it! You got support.

Dubya, willya?

How long have you been at COEX?? You've had plenty of opportunities to vote the IAM in. But the CAL and COEX agents continually vote against representation. You could have the power, but have chosen not to take it. Now you are asking the pilot group to take the reigns in an attempt to alter the 'corporate culture' of the company. I spent 3 years as part of the CAL/COEX family; as a COEX ASA, CAL ramp lead in CLE, EIT rep at GSP and a Supervisor at GSP...I left the company for greener pastures a month after 9/11. I know more than "someone who's cousins friends brothers former roomate works for the company!" I have many a friend still at COEX and the last thing I want is for them to lose their jobs because of a strike.

BUT, if a strike is necessary in order to provide the pilots at COEX a decent wage...then so be it. I know many a pilot at COEX that worked another part time job while an FO on the Beech or -120 up in CLE...it was pathetic. Everyone of them deserved better...and still do. Give 'em He!!

Cheers,
Markus

**CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED**, that wasn't any better. English teaching? Really, you might want to head back to school.

What f&@?ing airline management treats their employees well? (maybe SWA). Other than that, no jacka$$ in management cares about their employees. The only thing they care about is that the metal is moved and they get their undeserved bonus check. UGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Wow a Jetblue employee not swiggling the blue juice! First time I ever saw that. BTW, I certainly won't vote yes on a contract that just follows CHQ's lead.

You probably meant "bite me a-hole" but once again you biffed it.

Oh and I know who I am and that's all that matters.

Good Luck COEX

Good luck guys, I hope it all works out. You are in a good position in that your company is one of the few still making money, however, I'm not sure that you will ever really have the opportunity to use your leverage. I'm convinced that the NMB will never release you from Mediation as long as GWB is in office. Like it or not the NMB is highly politically influenced. If GWB has a federal government agency that can effectively eliminate the right to strike from a union's arsenal you can bet that is what will happen. You can look forward to endless mediation that will go nowhere, maybe for years. Unless you can accept your management's positions and reach an agreement without a release you will remain in NMB "limbo" forever I'm afraid. As long as the Republicans are in office strikes by airline industry labor groups are a thing of the past.

Management wants to expand but they can't get financing if they don't know how much labor will cost, that is our leverage. The CEO at the last shareholders meeting had questions asked by attendees regarding the labor issues, specifically when will they be finalized so we can move on. Up to this point the waiting game has worked in managements favor. As it drags on that advange will shift in favor of labor.

We'll be getting our last jet in about a years time so we'll stop growing up it's delivery. You never want to stop a moving force (growth) and hope you can rebuild momentum later while everyone else is still expanding. There are markets out there still up for grabs and we'll have to have something in place before that last delivery if XJet will be able to pursue those routes.

Your right, the NMB has the ability to take a lot of wind out of our sails but even without the threat of a strike our management has a timetable to keep and unanswered contracts will stop them in their tracks.
