Good advice for ALL pilots, if you're smart then you'll save for a rainy day. It's an unpredictable industry, you'd be dumb not to prepare.Yeah they are going to keep 12,000 pilots and over 1200 aircraft including all the regionals=NOTYou better prepare too! Your RJ may be on the cutting board...
And they going to keep MEM and CVG open=NOTPossible, but we'll see
DL just trying to lay low until the merger is approved by DOJ....yeah, then DAL will have to deal with the 24 month no furlough agreement.
Prepare now, save money for your family !!! Don;t get caught !!
" You're an idiot! "
The best defense is always a good offense...
Now, shall we discuss anger as a Defense Mechanism? Please do! We may be able to get you some help.
I may be an idiot but at least I have a grasp on reality, tenuous as it may be.

And they going to keep MEM and CVG open=NOT
I'm not sure why they would, but mgt is telling both communities they will stay hubs. I'm sure they'll be much smaller as DTW and ATL grow.
DL just trying to lay low until the merger is approved by DOJ.... Could be.
Prepare now, save money for your family !!! Don;t get caught !! Always good advice. I'm not worried about getting caught!
MJ, that's all I was alluding to in the first place. There have been several comments about furloughs NOT happening and that is just not realistic.
As far as this goes:
The NWA Negotiating committee previously negotiated Letter of Agreement (LOA) 08-46 Layoff Protection Package which addresses pilot reductions by implementing early retirements, leaves and hourly reductions without the need for furloughs.
1) Like all legal documents, it's about as valuable as the paper it is written on. "No Furlough Clause" comes to mind.
2) IF they can get enough Volunteers for Leaves / Retirements etc. THEN they can mitigate the number of furloughs.
Hopefully that can be done....But ask ten guys if they are willing to give up their paycheck tomorrow and see how many jump at the chance to volunteer.
I'm just sayin'.....Ya' know?

No furloughs at NWA through the end of the year. Currently there are four(4) programs in place that should prevent any furloughs in 2008.
But if the price of fuel go to $200/brl, it obviously will have an effect on staffing and furloughs....as would electing another moron to the White House who is anti-labor and pro-cabotage.
OK,show your pilot age.
What does TVMDC mean when it comes to navigation?
Lots!! Programs close on the 28th i believe so we'll see.
Someone told me there where 180 displacements. That be true or what?
