I was just wondering how one would go about appealing a checkride with a DE if you fell that he was not fair. I got asked questions outside of the practical test standards.
2 part question: the first part was reasonable, and I got it right.
Say your airplane doesnt fit in your hanger and you decide to cut 6 inches off the wing, what do you have to do?
My Answer: Apply for a supplementery type certificate, because the airplane would be un airworthey without it.
2nd part: say my friend sees what I have done and wants to do the same thing to his airplane, what do you need to do?
Answer is not get a supplementry type certificate: Aparently you have to buy the rights to use the original persons idea from that person, because only one supp. type certificate is issued for each item. I asked 5 instructors this question. 1 out of 5 got it right.
I may be off here...But ive never known an examiner to fail an applicant oer one small question..Maybe a question like "What airspace is this" but not like the one you described...Out of curiosity did you make it to teh airplane? What does the pink slip show as the area that you failed on?
Those were they type of questions. I had a 3 hour stage check oral the night before. He went line by line in the PTS, and I answered all correctly. I come in for the FAA, and i get a bunch of questions like this one. He also go me on the unfeathering accumulators. I told him everything I knew from the POH. It wasnt good enough. I even opened up the POH after he gave me a hard time and read for him line by line, and it still wasnt good enough.
