Just curious if anyone out there has heard anything concrete on possible early retirements? any numbers thrown around for how many guys they are planning on trying to get rid of?

Have not heard much at all. Bid is due out in 2 weeks or so and closes by the end of the month with results(and furlough numbers if any) out by the first of August. Looks like some guys are going to take the early out as the lump sum payout this Fall is going to be higher than anything next year plus they can each get another 100K on top of it to leave under this plan. I'd guess around 65-100 take the COLA(mommies, wives mostly) and then you have it. Whatever is left over will be looked at and if the rest of us or enough of the rest of us agree to lower line values for 18 months nobody leaves involuntarily. I'm thinking positive here but nobody should be shown the door.

Too early to tell.
Still will be shocked/surprised if 251-300 pilots take the deal, thereby guaranteeing the 100 grand payout. I do believe you will see some COLA's like people have said along with a handful of retirements.

I stand by my original post and opinion. No reason to furlough and this is/was just posturing by the company~
They won this one.

Always

yeah, i sure would like to see the union push the voluntary reduced flying. it would be nice to split the burden a small amount over many bodies instead of furloughs. one of these days, we are going to have to change the trend of the old not taking care of the young. the public could care less and so could the government, so we are going to have to take better care of ourselves.
