For ya'll in the know.

PA31 for sale. Moving into a 90.

I did 'joe school at SimCom. So, two questions.

Which do you recommend, CAE Simuflight, SimCom, or FlightSafety, based on these two criteria;

1. Quality of training, sim level, instructors, etc.

2. CONTACTS! This job is quickly going south and would be interested in making some contacts for a new job after logging some 90 time. Prefer the Tulsa-Dallas-Denver triangle, or close. No East or West coast, sorry.

Thanks a bunch! Go Sooners!

Hands down Flight Safety is the best way to go. I been to em all in my 9 years of flying King Airs and Flight Safety has the best Sims, knowledge, training paraphenalia. I went to Simcom once and i think i let the instructor know more about the airplane than what he let me in on.

As far as contacts, you are on your own on that one.

Thanks for chimming in mavrck!

I met a guy the other day that instructed for CAE in Dallas and he picked up a good 90 job through the grapevine. Just hoping maybe.........

Other opinions..............

Have you been to Simuflite? I have been to FSI and Simuflite, and as far as I'm concerned, Simuflite wins hands down. Better facilities and better(IMO) instructors. With FSI the quality seems to vary by facility. I felt the Wichita(Raytheon) facility was ok, but the sim instructors I had were horrible. The ground school instructor was great, though. At LGB FSI, the instructors were very knowledgeable, but I had a different one EVERY DAY in the sim. That's a real pain in the arse. Wilmington FSI....well....the ONLY redeeming quality was the women that worked at the hotel front desk.

I've been going to Simuflite the past 4 years...and it's a great place.

If you want quality, stay away from SimCom. I've had good instructors for the Baron course, but not too sure about the King Air. My main reason is that they don't have a "sim". They have a Level 1 FTD for the King Air (unless something has recently changed). SimuFlite is great (and was about half the cost of FSI for the King Air when I went). They offer a Part 91 King Air C90 class, but only have an FTD. The FTD has EFIS and GPS, and has pretty good visuals. I went through a BE200 Initial (Level C sim) with C90 differences and got some time in the FTD. All of my instructors flew the King Air series for charter or corporate operators and had a wealth of "real world" tips.

FSI operates a Level D C90B sim in Witchita and the course is very complete. I can't speak for the instructos, but some FSI Centers are known for having insructors with 0 time in the actual aircraft.

...would kansas work for ya???

...and do you have at least 500 multi???

Toto, we're not in Kansas anymore....

Kansas would work for me,
I have 4000+ multi.
;)

lol...with that kind of profile, i doubt they would consider you. why in the hell would you want to go from the 7 series down to a lowly C90?

...gotcha ;)

Your avatar looks like what is left of a UT student after 5 years on the blunt.

I assume you are a former Halloween burnt orange pilgrim.;)

LOL! True about my avatar. But I don't mind - not with girls looking like your avatar all over campus! And yep, I graduated from UT. :)

I give a "10" to the girls of UT.

I give a "2" to the boys of UT for finding the endzone in Dallas. (Reference to the annual UT/OU game at the Cotton Bowl for those of you who want to scream "Oh, Oh, UT is in Austin, not Dallas dumba@@ DAS!" Yes, I know.)

FWIW Our weekely trip to AUS usually winds up with luch at Rudys on Cap of T Drive. In the summertime there seems to be a LOT of leg. Something about floating a river nearby. I'm sure you've been there. Nice scenery.;)

Yeah, well, our record against your stupid Sooners is pretty crappy - that's true. Fire Greg Davis!

I'm at Rudy's all the time - very very good! Especially considering it's a chain. Shoot me a PM the next time you're in town - we'll get some Iron Works or Stubb's.

I'll let ya know the next time we drag our Navaslo that way.

Oh yeah, thanks for embarrassing O State for us. You guys handled them a little better than we did.

It sure looked like they were on their way to embarrassing us, but it was an awesome second half.

And Daisetta at 10/250 in a Navajo? I kinda assumed you were in the Cheyenne. :D

I signed up for flightinfo.com when I was instructing at BMT. Most of our XC training was to LFK and ACT. The Center sector handling that area also handles the arrivals over DAS for IAH. For two years all I heard was "Jetlink 3492 cross DAS at 10/250". So, that's how I became BATMAN, no wait that's another story, so that's how I became DAS AT 10/250!

The best I can do is MARCS at 7000' and 180!
