Probably been asked before, and probably a stupid question, but what's the overall best regional to be working at right now?
And....
Is the upgrade time at Horizon gonna be coming down or, has it already?

Yup its been asked before...but instead of a smartass remark (which you'll likely get PLENTY of)...I'll answer "it depends".

1. Where do you live, or where do you want to live?
2. Do you care about a fast upgrade, good workrules & QOL, or a mid-road combination of both?
3. What are your long-term career expectations?

Having flown Barney you should really consider NetJets...they seem to have plenty of military folks there, the pay and health insurance is (much) better, and you can collect more type ratings if you are interested in that kind of thing.

Well horizon is a good regional. The upgrade is still up there. Should be coming down next year hopefully to like 4 or 5 year instead of 6 to 7. They will be flying to Mexico pretty soon as well.

Find a regional thats close to mommy and daddy so you don't have to live in a crash pad with 10 others.

Seriously, regional pilots that live or can be based with a easy commute close to where you wanna live makes life a bit easier.

I guess the best regional can be defined as what you are looking for?

Best Pay?
Sched.?
Bases?
Type of Plane?
Upgrade Time?
FlowThru?

The list could go on..... its all about what your looking for.

The best one is the one that fills the specific need you are trying to fill the quickest so you can move on.Very few are long term career candidates.
