We are all about to be Delta Pilots and to preach that you should be treated differently is pretty short sighted. Lets hope for the the best deal we can get ALL get. We'll see. Oh and please use spell check, it will cover up your lack of the ability to spell words. ;)

LOA 19 what is that?
You said seniority is forever and we have to fight to protect it. LOA19 is already almost gone to be replaced by something else.

I would like to preserve my quality of life! The so call gains from a merger can disappear in a blink of an eye or may never even come to pass.
The benefits of merging with Northwest may just be a sham for all I know. Lots of variables involved.

I want something I can hold unto if this thing falls apart.

You at least have your 40% and many other things. What do I get?

You say I got LOA19 and it never even went into effect. The equity is now going to be shared by everyone of us excellent but what does a Delta pilot get. This all seems one sided to me as regards the goodies etc.

Well it is a difficult question with no answer because the truth is the Delta guy only gets a headache from this merger and gloomy prospects for his future.:crying:

Hello superpilot you may end up as number 1 at Delta our youngest new hire pilot is 27 years old.

I envy you and way to go. It is quite an achievement getting to Delta so young. Our young pilots are some of the most outstanding individuals I have ever met. You will love this company. If this merger fails by any chance I would suggest you leave and come here! It is a really nice place to work! Love my Airline and its employees.;)
I know you can make it in through the front door!
How many of your pilots are not college educated apart from Occam.
Hey just giving you guys a hard time I have to find some humor in this mess you know and next week when things clear up and I find out my MEC protected my future as I expect I will be nicer.

Just teasing you Superpilot by calling you son. Have I found the chink in your armor!!No not really, unless its a bad thing to be "young" and in my position? ;)
True to type there you go supporting Occam.Your insults towards Occam were childish and against your belief Occams insight is respected by many on both the DAL and NWA sides. I am sure he is laughing at the fact that he for one reason or another gets under your skin. That is loyality. I have no regrets about my statements towards Occam. He began it by hurling insults. By insults do you mean a level headed and witty responce?
I am not pro merger, never will be and I still do not see what the benefit is for me You have made it evident that you feel this only about YOU! You want to call that childish have fun. But I assure you I am not the only Delta pilot who feels this merger is a windfall for the Northwest side. Considering the state of the industry i hope we can agree its nice to be seeing +'s instead of -'s in our COMBINED contractual gains, right?
We will try to make the best of it. But save the insults for those who care! Again as I said I like youAhh now i am blushing  !!
I am not getting a spell checker you guys seem to figure out what I am saying. Flight info is not worth the trouble.

I have a hard time seeing a benefit for me as a Delta Pilot apart from the statement that the roof is falling and it will after I am laid off for a few years provide me a better company to get recall.
Any opinions are welcomed !! Enlighting me as to my bright future in a new Delta.
Also the Northwest guys get pay raises, equity and our DC program. The SLI does not give the Delta pilots an advantage.
So I see a Airline with smiling northwest pilots and Delta pilots just dreading losing their quality of life.
After 4 pages... . you Sir, are correct.

Hello superpilot you may end up as number 1 at Delta our youngest new hire pilot is 27 years old. I know a guy who I think is 26 at DAL. He was hired at DAL the same month i was so it depends on the SLI how that works out. Also there are 3 people senior to me here at NWA that are barely younger than i am. So number 1 might not be achievable ;)

How many of your pilots are not college educated. Everyone i know here has a degree. It was a requirement to get the interview.

In the long run this will be a good deal for all i am sure. Relax it could be ALOT worse, see the rest of the industry right now. This combination of our airlines might enable us to buck the trend. Fingers crossed.

Occam maybe a flightinfo Hero or villian depending on your point of veiw. Nobody at Delta airlines knows him or cares about his opinion. He is just another faceless, nameless guy on flight info to me and many others.

This is not the real world folks just a place for fantasy and remarks made safely from behind a mask. As the General Lee says " have fun on flight info"

Just began this trend to feel the heat and remind our fantasy world resident that Delta pilots deserve compensation for the merger. We bring most of the goodies to the table. In my opinion way more than Northwest.

The only thing that I see Northwest bringing to the table is some route authority in Narita and B747 which most pilots at Delta will never get to fly during their career.
Also I guess the biggest contribution is its already trained pilots ready to help us with our International expansion. Wish you guys goodluck learning to fly into exotic destinations around the world. A little bit different from the visual into Minot:laugh: But you guys are costing us an arm and a leg.

And I may even have to give up my job. Hell no fella's go fix your own Airline in that case and leave us alone. We are having fun here right now.

I do not feel this is a merger amoung equals. Delta is just being nice making an aquisition look like a merger.

While I understand the merger needs to be fair. I have no desire to see us go overboard with this process by selling our pilots down the river.

Northwest does not have a hard entry requirement for a college degree. I personally know a Northwest pilot without a degree. Not that it really matters in some cases other things in life could make up for the lack of a degree.
Just giving you guys a hard time. Get use to it if we merge we are always going to be watching our new pilots from Northwest with some interest.;)

And here that includes the captains. No captain god mentality here at Delta. We have a unique flight deck culture which you will find enjoyable and I hope we preserve.

Dude, you're starting to sound like a real tool and giving the rest of us DAL guys/gals a bad name...I'm sure any NWA stick can fly into our "exotic" destinations just as proficiently as you can. How bout bucking up a bit and taking this merger like a man instead of whining on here like your entitled to something and "oh, my career expectations"....we work in the AIRLINE INDUSTRY....there are ZERO expectations we can take to the bank 20 years from now....get used to it or get out NOW.

deleted.. bailing out of this thread.

Superpilot.... Speedbird is almost right. Congrats on getting on at such a young age.

DAL currently has 2 retirements in 2046, 2 retirements in 2047, and 1 in 2048 all scheduled for age 65.
