Try calling hotels directly. I stayed at New York, New York about 4 years ago for $50 a night.

I just got back from Las Vegas and stayed at the Paris for about $105 a night. I got a room on the 24th floor with a view of the Bellagio fountains. I went to http://www.nrbinc.com/ They are a room broker for vegas. I just checked for August and the rate was 108 weekday and 170 weekend. Just depends what you want. I looked at all the sites and found this to be the best one. Some people say the hotel charged them for an upgrade to a higher floor. I just asked nicely when I checked in and got it free. Get more with honey than vinegar. Good luck and have fun.
