Any recent experience with lodging and things to do - fishing, snorkeling, tennis courts; oh, and best place to get a beer?

MT

Stayed at, what I believe is called, the Blue Water Resort, IIRC. Was only there one night so we didn't do anything exciting, but the bar at the resort was nice and the grounds/rooms were nice. I'd love to take the wifey there.

(BTW, this was in 6/09)

Coconut Beach Club wasn't that nice. Common area TV and Internet was outside with the bugs. The a/c never got cold and you couldn't open the windows because there were no mosquito nets/screens.

Sad to say it has been since the late 70s since I have RONed in Antigua. I have made quite a few passenger pickups there since, but no RONs.

The lady that runs/owns the FBO is a very nice person and runs a great FBO.

Back in the day, the only area that had any type of night life was in English Harbour. English Harbour, mostly named after Nelson, is very popular stop for the yachting crowd. Therefore, a lot of bars and restaurants.

Have a good time and please report back.

Thanks.

Land there...kick out the Pax....repo the plane to Florida....and hire a contract guy to do the pick up.

I will follow up on my experience.
I didn't use a handler at all. Probably saved my employer $1-2K.
Only hard part was figuring out how to do CaribeAPIS on my own.
A little google time and figuring out how to upload the excel file and no problem.
FBO 2000 was excellent.
The FBO recommends Sugar Ridge or Veranda for lodging.
We stayed at Sugar Ridge - very nice and relaxing. Definitely couples focused.
I offered to fly my wife down but she was too busy (accountant during tax season).
I jogged over by Jolly Bay and see where that could be more fun, but we were happy up on the ridge.
Yes, it is a lovely exotic location, but I was working the entire time - that is my story and I'm sticking to it!

If you love to snorkel then check out Five Islands Harbour while there!
