Hey there,

I'm going to Amsterdam for a concert in Mid March, trying to find a cheap place to stay, but I am going with the girlfriend, so hostels are not allowed...

Any input would be most appreciated.

Thanks.

Easy, go to a hostel but get what is called a private/ensuite style room. It's usually a small room with one big bed or two singles and your OWN bathroom. Go to hostels.com and check out the prices.

Call Accor hotels at 800 221-4542 and ask for an airline discount. They offer up to 75% off rooms. check with accorhotels.com to see the hotels in the city center. Accor runs the very nice Sofitel and Novotel chains. Stayed in a 5 star Sofitel there last year for $80/day. A friend stayed in another place (called grand prix or something) for $47/day.

This works for DCI carriers if you say "Delta discount". they don't really know the difference between ASA, Comair and Delta at reservations. If you work for someone else I would still try. Good luck!!

Try http://www.expatriates.com/classifieds/amst/ it lists places where people rent on thier own places, alot of people in Amesterdam do this when they are going on Vacation and you can get the best deals that way.

You can get to Amsterdam Central directly from the airport by train for about 7euros, and you will want some place in town to really enjoy the stay, once there everything is walking distance or bicycling distance.

You take polar and she takes the airlines....

If you are going to Amsterdam, I would "accidentally" tell her someplace else that she flies to. Just seems a shame to go someplace like that and not be able to fully experience Dutch culture.

Whooaaaa Ho Ho! Aren't you guys studs! So you go to amsterdam and buy lots of sex I gather then?

For the other guys, thanks for the info...any Northwest people on here that happen to know where the NWA crews stay in AMS? I could potentially get a discount there...
