I have heard that Eagle do not have a system in place to carry out the background checks of non-citizens through the dept of justice. Anyone know if this is the case?

Anyone know of non-citizens working for Eagle?

Been called for an interview, so I'm trying to find out what the deal is.

Thanks for any insight.

I can't speak for Eagle, but do remember working with some green card holders when I was at AA as a flight attendant. This was in the early-mid 1990s. One was a 757 F/O and the other was a F/A.

If they tell you it's not done at Eagle, that may be the case. If they tell you no one at AMR works with a green card, that's not true. It may be accurate in a post 9/11 environment.

Good luck...fly safe!

I personally know of at least one. A Spaniard who was in my new hire class in 2001. I have also flown with a Brit, but I am not sure if he took citizenship or is still a green card holder.

As far as I know they will interview you will not go through the whole process and they will put you on hold. I have several friends who have been on hold for 6 monhts already.

Further more it is illegal to deny you employment based on the fact you are a greencard holder (certain exceptions like FBI etc). If Eagle have greencard holders already they will have a DOJ contact because everytime a greencard holder does ANY (including PC, recurrent) training DOJ clearance has to be sort. It does take a little longer if you have never flown >12,500 Lbs since 9/11.

American Eagle keeps telling non-citizen pilots that they can't do the background checks, but that's not true. American Eagle is on the FAA list of airlines who can get the background checks done thru
http://flightschoolcandidates.gov

You're right. AE is in the DOJ list to get goverment approval for training. There is something behind all this. I recall a couple of years ago a few Eagle pilots were caught with false gree cards, it might something to do with that (??)

Hey dude,

I have read about this diliema on www.eaglelounge.com

The people in that lounge are great!!! Tell them Mooser told you to go over there!!!

Anywho..I am not planning on touching EAGLE with a ten foot stick...have you tried other carriers???

Can you tell Us why?
The whole flowthrough deal that turned into a "FLOWBACK"...which leads to very long upgrades....I know the legacy carriers won't be hiring for a while but the LCC's are and will continue to; so getting that 121 pic time is important!!!

I would take Eagle over Mesa anyday of the week though; even if I would be 30 when I would upgrade...

My thoughts

I can tell you why he wouldn't touch Eagle with a ten foot pole!! Just go search Eagle lounge a bit, in the newhire section. (You may find that rejection has something to do with it!!)

Unfortunately ,the flowback was part of the flowthrough deal. It went both ways. Yeah it sucks but we have to live with it.

I hope some day you guys get the chance to "flowthrough"!!! I would like to see AMR pick itself up by it's boot straps and finally recover!!! I also wish Delta and the United people the same luck!!!!

Eagle seems to have a great Pilot Group!!! I wish you guys and gals the best of luck!!!
