If anyone goes to one of these meetings, how about posting a synopsis of the discussion for those who can't make it. Not sure the NPA is going. The receptionist seemed to think the meeting was next week.

Or maybe if management wanted it public they would have released it and made it public. It would probably be responsible to keep some information private that deals with the direction of the company and feelings of management. Remember people outside aviation read these boards. If every time information that the company tells us ends up public they will stop telling us anything. Just a thought.

If they wanted to keep this info private they would not tell a room full of pilots.

Egggzactly right. ;)

Ebony is still kinda new, and a very nice girl, it was just announced yesterday, she might not have a copy of everyone's schedule.

Pretty sure a couple NPA reps are going - I called this morning to check on SBA status and they were in an unscheduled meeting. My guess is the company has probably called the NPA in advance and let them know what's going on (believe it or not, the company and the NPA still talk - they know our mutual survival requires mutual cooperation).

I've never been about burning the place down; I've always preached industry-average compensation packages and raises that match inflation and COLA. I'm glad the company is taking steps to ensure its survival, and I'm certain the NPA will back those actions if they believe they are reasonable steps.

In the unlikely event that management gets up in a room full of employees and discloses things they want kept confidential :erm: , I'm sure that your fellow pilots would honor that request and not post it here. ;)

SWAPA reps are visiting with the company (SWA) via nonscheduled meeting too!!! NPA and SWA will be in the same room soon if not already.

Ain't gonna happen.

Never say never, buddy...

Although it would be a little odd with the timing of the announcement yesterday to sell convertible notes and offer over $14 Million of additional shares then, today, to announce some type of purchase by Southwest.

Of course, this is aviation, and everything, including announcements made 5 minutes ago, are subject to change at any given moment. ;)

True, but I'd put the odds somewhere around 1 in 1,000. SWA won't be interested in buying an airline that has 141 airplanes and thousands of employees in the beginning of what is probably a recession. GK isn't that stupid.

Anything could happen. However, one thing is sure, Airtran employees will find out via the media long before anyone in management would tell us in person.

Hopefully someone will post it on the NPA forum. That should be the first place any of us look for info. I know some of us are addicted to FI, but we should be looking to the NPA forum before FI for info on whats going on. Hell, if you checked there before we logged on to FI they would get 20k plus hits each day. And thats just from PCL.

Well let's see, Airtran lost 35 mil. 1st quarter. United lost 500 mil. 1st quarter. Delta lost 6.4 billion!! 1st quarter. Bottom line is, it's a blood bath for all.

What's sad is that from what I read in the AJC this morning we (AAI) had growth of around 18%. Problem is our fuel cost went up 25%. Even I can do that math.

At least Anderson came out today and stated publicly that airlines need to raise their fares 15-20%. Couldn't agree more. He also stated that airlines have cut spending as much as they can in every conceivable area. Now it's time for the public to start sharing some of the pain that we all have been feeling for the last few years. About time.

BF Stated that we will curb our growth some more this year and sell off a few more 737s to improve our cash on hand position. While I personally hate to hear this because it means my time to upgrade just moved further away, at least I'll have a seat to upgrade too down the road.

The sky is certainly not falling here at Airtran. Every airline out there is in the same situation. Our numbers simply mirror the industry overall right now.

Concern? you bet. I hate to see my company lose money anytime. Panic? nah, not until I see our cash dwindling and guys being put on the street.

We're all in this together. Good luck to us all.

I guess you didn't read the press release about the Delta loss, which was mostly a right off. There was a significant loss though, but not as bad as you like to spin it. Make sure you put 3 !!!'s next time!!!

Bye Bye--General Lee
