I was wondering if anyone out there has some real numbers concerning 2007 hiring projections. I'm currently building my PIC Turbine time and think I may throw my hat in the ring within the year. Thanks in Advance.

Not quite. They carried the most in the US domestic markets.

I'll say it again. Southwest carried more people in August than any other carrier in the WORLD. They only fly US domestic, but they carried more bodies than any other carrier in the WORLD.

Southwest carried more Customers than any other U.S. airline in August, marking the first time we have topped the monthly list for combined domestic and international passengers. We have been the top domestic passenger carrier since May 2003. We carried 8.7 million Customers in August, bumping American down to second place with 8.5 million passengers. Rounding out the top five for August were Delta, United, and Northwest.

Overall, U.S. airlines carried 66.5 million passengers in August, down slightly from 66.8 million in the same month last year. But the airlines have carried 505.6 million passengers during the first eight months of the year, up slightly from 503.7 million in the year-ago period.

So what? That doesn't NOT make them an LCC. Anyone can be a Major. Even Comair, Express Jet, and Sky West are majors. How does that define you as an airline? It doesn't. For SWA, LCC category does.

Southwest is a MAJOR LCC :). If someone needs info on Southwest, the "Majors" section is a good place to look. It's just the way the message board works. You can split hairs on where to post, but those looking for info on various large carriers can usually find it on the majors forum.

Are they a Low Cost Carrier? Ie..Cheap prices, no first, no business, no food?

But then again I think it might go by the revenue generated. The point is, who cares? The topic is here, if someone knows just spit it out.
