I may be able to snatch up a corporate job from a friend. My concern is Insurance. I only have 600tt and maybe 50 multi. Would I even be insurable on a small business jet like a Citation Jet or a King air 90?
As a solution to our glut of pilots, the root cause of all the industry's employment woes, why not make it exceedingly difficult to become a pilot?
For example, as its been pointed out, when XYZ airline can't get any 2000 hour pilots, they don't raise the pay, they lower the qualifications...
I'm not an aviation professional - I'm 27 with all my commercial/CFI ratings and about 700 hours.
I keep up with the writings on scope and RJ's (its interesting!) and it seems to me that basically the mainline guys are finding it cheaper to send flights to the regionals because you can pay the...
Does anybody out there work in a job where flying is just part of the job? I've been working in the IT field for a number of years and teaching flying part time for a couple years as well. I enjoy both, and I'd like to find a job where I can do some computer work and fly the company plane as...
Is there a new part in the regs for fractionals?
My book has 91, 121, 135... I thought there was a new addition just for Fractionals, or are they still operating under part 91?
I've had a folks give me a tip after a flight. Usually a one time intro ride or a photo flight. Is it common for a pilot to get a tip. What about you guys that fly 135, corporate or for a Fractional. Do you get ips or have a company policy?
I'd like to get some information on these pilot services...
My limited opinions so far...
AEPS - I signed up for the free 10 day trail. I got lots of spam, finally blocked e-mails from aeps.com, then I got a packet in the mail that included a magazine. The magazince wasn't too bad, but...
I suppose this could be continued from the Pan Am thread... In any case, the ASA Intern Program for CFI's is no longer at Flight Safety, that is the program I was referring to. I would guess the ASA program where you pay your way in is dead as well, but the web site wasn't really clear.
As...
Anybody instructed at the Pan Am Flight Academy? Any info would be appreciated.
Also, are they connected in any way with the former / recently re-started Pan Am Airlines?
I was wondering if an AEPS membership would be worth the money. I'm hoping to move my way into a corporate job where I can do some computer programming and flying. I've got about 500 hours, my CFII, multi-commercial. I'm instructing part time and working as a computer programmer full time...
I was hoping to get some opinions on my best course of action.
My goal is to switch from my current career as a computer programmer to one in aviation, hopefully flying around in a jet and making lots of money.
I've got a BA Literature and I'm currently working as a computer programmer. My...
Flight Safety had an Intern program a while back with ASA where you give 800 hours dual, and then you are put into a slot for a job with ASA, just like you'd paid the bazillion dollars to go through the program. In reading some of the other posts it appears they intend to do this same sort of...
I was hoping to get some basic information on life style and schedules at UPS. I'm sure it varies with seniority and location, but thought someone could give me some sort of an average for days on and nights away from home.
Thanks in advance for any information.
