737NG FMS question
Just curious if anyone knows what the wind correction prompt on the lower right of the screen on the init ref page is for. Ours defaults to plus 5kts. Asked around and no one seems to really know and it is not in our manuals. Thanks DA -

Airtran ATA jumpseat info
Just FYI not sure if this has already been posted but management has given captains authority to offer former ATA pilots the cockpit jumpseat as long as they are still in CASS, or a cabin jumpseat if they are no longer in the CASS system until further notice. DA -

UK aviation regulations
Just curious about what it says about using an ultralight/experimental airplane to engage in commercial operations. Is it similar to the US regs, only for instruction two seats max etc.... Not sure if anyone here will even know but maybe Thanks in advance DA -

Red Bull Air race in SFO
Planning on taking a few days to go check out the Air races in SFO this weekend. Just curious where is the best place to watch the action. Any locals out there. I am pretty familiar with the area, but don't know if they will have stands or what. Any info will be greatly appreciated. DA -
New JB terminal in JFK
After reading several of the posts regarding Jet Blue and their new terminal I am curious as to why it is only 26 gates for 800 or so million. I know it says they can add some more to bring it up to 36 gates but that still seems awfully expensive for 36 gates. I think that comes to around 22... -

AirTran going out of business!
A friend told me of a rumor that AirTran would be out of business in 2 years according to his sources, pilots who jumped ship to work for a startup cargo airline. Just curious if anyone else has heard anything to that effect. Last I heard they are still hiring like crazy. I sure hope it is...- DairyAir

Just looking for some opinions from the peanut gallery. I may have the opportunity to be chief pilot of a corporate flight dept. Currently I am a captain at a respected regional making about 60k, fairly good seniority, bidding in the mid thirties in my base out of 100 captains. My QOL is crap... -
