    MIA Signature FULL!!!

What's up with the Signature ramp at MIA? It's been overflowing (they're parking on the east end of the junkyard, er, I mean contract mx ramps) for the past week or more. Somebody move the NBAA and forget to tell me? ;) TC

TWA v. ALPA Suit Going To Trial

Judge said he wanted it scheduled "sooner, rather than later". ALPA's summary judgement motion and appeal dismissed by Judge. TWA's motion to reconsider spoilation dismissed by the Judge (although the evidence handed over by ALPA's council, to avoid sanctions by the Bar Assoc., after the drop...

    Will They Hire ex-GM/Ford Pilots?

I guess the AF brass and Congresswh0res are special enough to merit Gulfstreams... http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/08/05/house-pencils-millions-jets-air-force-did-request/ Sorry GM and Ford pilots, you need not apply. :puke: TC

    Where was ALPA?

Yeah, I've been beating up on ALPA at AirTran and I'll take any opportunity to rough up my favorite union gofer, Rez but here's a perfect example of ALPA being MIA: Sully gave our profession a huge boost with his comments about the future of aviation and his self-effacing denial that he did...

    Atlas VP Flt. Ops gone...

And now, the REST of the story... Word on the street at AA (well, TWA ;) ) is that STL Chief Pilot will retire 8/31 to take a job at Atlas. Friend of Atlas pilot requests more info. Atlas pilot talks to TWA guy who forwards posts from TWA board to Atlas pilot who forwards them to Atlas MEC...

    A-B Rip?

Heard last night that In-Bev has decided to close the Anheuser-Busch flight department. Any confirmation? I would imagine the family will still operate a department. IMO. TC

    Strip Rippers?

Forgive me if this has been asked before but: Do you still use 'strip rippers' or 'strip stuffers'? My daughter is interested in ATC and needs to take a year off college to establish residency in AZ so I thought getting a job in ATC might be a good thing. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance. TC

    BONE's at the Brickyard

If there's anyone here (or knows someone) from the B-1 unit that did the flyby before the Brickyard 400 in IND, I just wanted to say thanks for the show. They did their final orbit over my neighborhood before making the run into the track. It was a two-ship that looked to be at around 500' to...

"Some" TWA Pilots at AA deemed newhires...

From Eagle ALPA: Fellow pilots, This afternoon, we received a decision in the Letter 3 grievance related to employment opportunities generated by the acquisition of TWA by AA. ALPA and American Eagle’s position in this grievance was that the acquisition of TWA was not a simple merger and that...

    Finding Qualified Pilots...

I was told that Virgin America had pretty much cleaned out the ranks of "qualified" A320 typed pilots and will now consider 757/767 experience and lots of time for CA positions. I told my friend that if they even paid $10/hr. more they would be able to find a lot more people. We'll see if...

    CAL--This can't be real...

Got this off another website. Come on, CAL guys, this has to be a hoax: -------------------------- *CAL** Safety Update* February 23, 2007 On Feb. 9, 2007, the EWR Chief Pilot’s Office distributed the following B-737 Update: I woke up Wednesday morning and departed for work. I found my...

Who would aspire to work for AA?

Not flame bait and if any current AA/TWA starts one I'll delete the thread. (I want to hear from disinterested parties.) Here's the scenario: The other legacies are hiring. You know from airlinepilotcentral.com what the pay is and roughly what the QOL is from here. AA opens up hiring after...

    Southern Air Transport?

Since Ortega got elected in Nicaragua again, what are the chances SAT will start back up? With Cheney, Rumsfeld and Baker hanging around, can the "good old days" be far off? ;) TC

    Cruise Pilot?

Anyone know if you have to be a pilot to be a cruise pilot? Assuming you are trained in the aircraft, is it a requirement to be a licensed pilot with a 2nd class medical to act as a relief pilot? TC

    VOR Check?

If you have a nav system that, at some point, could use VOR's to update the FMS, you still have to do a VOR check every month. Someone had a bet on this and I said yes, you do have to do the check. If you don't do the check, the system could be using false info in the event of a GPS failure...

    CO Wildlife Tracking...

A couple months ago, a guy pulled up next to us in Eagle in a 185 with some antennas mounted under the wing. It was a state-owned plane that said something about wildlife monitoring on it. He was interested in our plane so I didn't have time to ask what he did. Anyone have any info on that...
