    SWA hiring more.

All timing.....took me almost 3 years to hold DAL. Then a 2014 new hire holds it right away (happy for him). The last vacancy bid was misleading because there were more new hires in the bid than transitions (88 vs. 30). Furthermore there were big + numbers in BWI and MCO. Hence, AT bidders...

    Southwest 3rd QTR LOSS

Fubi, There aren't "crickets from the true believers"; there’s just no credible arguments from people whom wish harm upon SWA. As far as your cult comment, what is your definition of a cult? There are generally two widely accepted definitions based on different time periods. You obviously...

    Southwest 3rd QTR LOSS

1978-2011: LUV Return = 133339% DAL return = -58% A companies success depends on matching the product to the market at the right time. SWA has been very successful at above and for that I am grateful.

    SWA Application Question

So your saying there is a chance? My best guess, based on the job posting numbers, is that each posting consist of 50 applicants. Therefore, between 4,450-4,500 applicants at this time. How those are filtered is anyone guess: as a whole vs. posting number? Having been on hiring boards...

SWA Taking Applications March 9-23 until 5PM

I think a more important question is how many people applying will be competitive? I would assume only those with a 737 type-rating would be called for this initial round of interview/hiring. [Just my assumption] Best of luck to all who apply. Cheers

    Jackson Hole incident today...

The NTSB added further on Dec 31st, that there are long established protocols (40+ years) for incidents where no injuries, no substantial damages and no substantial damage to other property have occurred. On such occasions the NTSB frequently asks the airline to transport the recorders on their...

Al Franken Wants Computers Out Of The Cockpit

I thought this thread would die but..... How has this story been "de bunked"? Becuase GB went on the air the next day and pandered to his audience (ie. You) about how he was blind sided? BS....he got caught holding his wacker in the theater with PeeWee and back peddeled. C'mon!!!! You...

Al Franken Wants Computers Out Of The Cockpit

While I agree that Franken is a slim-ball politician (along with 99% of the rest)......this is why pilots [most] never make good managers or politicians; You don't actually read anything. --------------------------------- Below is the actual letter he sent: [emphasis by me] Dear Secretary...

    Legacy Contract flying

Just curious: Is that a documented procedure?

Lisa Tealer can't use seat-back trays when she's flying because she's "fat"

Thankfully the last time I flew an airline was over a year ago..... However, as someone who is 6'4", flying coach on a RJ (or any coach seat) can be physically painful. I have no sympathy for the FAT people. Call in "insensitive" or whatever but your FAT and it's your fault. Eat less, put...

    Sleepy NWA pilots?

From you Airbus guys/gals: What mode does the AP revert to once you reach the end of your flightplan?

    Will They Hire ex-GM/Ford Pilots?

It's all Obama/Dems fault.....gimme a break. Crap like this has been going on for many...many years. Apparently just now are a few of you are waking up to that fact. Reminds me of the county idiot cop that runs 120 mph to the wreck that happened an hour ago. The two big pushers were...

    Business activity increase in Feb.

We were just talking about this yesterday. Went to TEB yesterday and it looked like the "old TEB" after looking like a ghost town the past few months. Same for IAD and other airports - you can even here more traffic on the radio. Lets hope this is just the beginning.

    7X deliveries

Don’t normally respond on here, but: Absolutely, NOT true. Aircraft was for sale months before said flight. Other aircraft for sale are part of a strategically planned fleet reduction from June 2008.

Falcon 50EX Engine Failure at V1 Scenario

Just for giggles: Lets say your flying a $hit-hot Legacy at Max Gross weight on a BF.....and you hit a flock of whatever and blows both engines....what you going to do? In either case (50 or Legacy) the end result will be a fast deceleration - do you want that closer to the airport or...

    RNP-4 Approval

G100, Yes, I am aware of of that. I guess RNP4 is coming down the pipes as they want to reduce the sep. down to 25nm. Just curious if anyone on here has applied for operator approval?
