AME in Peachtree City or ATL

Dr. Stephen Leonard at 2900 Chamblee Tucker Road. (770) 458-3535. Very quick. No waiting any time I've ever been. Dr. Williams is amusing, but I wouldn't classify him as fast. I've been in his office as little as 1 hour and as much as 3.5. You just never know. The most predictable and...

Delta Reverses Course: Returning to Hilton Head Island

The locals need to realize that the genie got out of the bottle 20+ years ago. HHI is not some quiet little hideaway. It is a commercial gala that attracts folks from all over the easter United States and many from abroad. US 278 has been a nightmare to travel on for a couple of decades now...

    Delta int'l jumpseat question

My advice is to ask your friend or another DAL employee to check the non-rev status the night before and make your decision after that. If it looks wide open, list on the jumpseat and save some money. If it's tight, see if your friend's DOH will ensure that you get on as an S4. A lot of times...

    Chatty co-pilot

Tell him that the FAA has extended sterile cockpit from the hotel van to FL410 and that you won't tolerate any violations.

Where to buy metal toy planes for a gift?

This one has a variety of sizes: http://www.badcataviation.com/igacfi.html I saw only 1:72 on this one, but I didn't look very deep: http://www.crossroadsdiecast.com/index.html

big europe trip, need hotel suggestions

I second the plug for Trip Advisor. Most of the reviews are fair, but be wary of posters who aren't satisfied with anything and pick apart the smallest details. Pictures and maps give you a good idea of what you're getting into as well. Are you a part of any awards programs? I jumped on the...

June 22 deadline for Roth IRA contribution

Thanks for the reminder. Roth is a great way to go as it is written now. I'm fearful of the future lot of legislators figuring out a way to tax that on the back end as we spend our way further and further into debt.

    Memorial Day

That's the third recommendation for that movie that I've heard in the last week. I'll have to put it on my list.

    Training event Legal question

I don't know if you'd be required to report it, but if you don't report that job to the next potential employer, they might ask you about the gap in your work history. I've seen employers request explanations for gaps as short as 2 weeks, though I think most are 30 days.

    Random ATC question

Ditto that. It's easy to get complacent with the great job ATC does the vast majority of the time, but there's no substitute for knowing what's going on around you.

    Random ATC question

It's not your imagination. I've noticed the same thing.

Quit flying job to go back to college?

I agree with those who say do it online, or night classes if you have a regular work schedule. If you want to continue to make a living as a pilot, I wouldn't recommend leaving a good job to shore up the "backup plan." But I do think it's a good idea to get the bachelors degree. It will be...

And close to Athens too, one of Georgia's finest cities.

    Pay Rate Question?

This sounds like a good and fair estimate to me. My company paid slightly less than that more than 10 years ago. Could have been better, but could have been worse too.

Moving to Atlanta: General Aviation questions...

I don't know anything about fly-in communities in Georgia or elsewhere, but here's a website dedicated to telling you more about them in different states, including GA. Good luck! http://www.thirtythousandfeet.com/resident.htm

Air France Aircraft Disappears off Radar

The adage "no news is good news" definitely does not apply here. I feel bad for the families waiting to hear something...anything. That's gotta be difficult.
