Sukhoi SuperJet dissapears on demo flight, 46 on board
Yeah, that question was raised on PPRUNE but no one seems to have a logical answer for that. The only reason to turn it off I would guess would be to silence audible terrain warnings while doing some mountain flying at low altitudes above terrain. Not sure, just speculation. -

FA Meltdown Aboard AA Flight
Wow, kinda puts a new spin on the fact that FA's have access to the cockpit. I don't think it will change anything, but it does make you wonder if the airplane became airborne and she paid a "visit" up front. -

Question for AA Pilots
I was of the understanding that at least one perhaps more of the 9/11 hijackers were actually disguised as airline pilots jump-seating. That could be a possible reason as to why there may not have been evidence of the cockpit door opening. I have no proof of that, you can chalk it up to the... -

It depends on which phase of flight you are in. Use the information from your terminal charts. In your example during climb out you would set your altimeter to 29.92 climbing through 18,500'. On descent you would have your altimeter set to the current local altimeter and you would be flying... -

The fact of the matter is, I simply do not know. It sucks to just sit here and wait while knowing that the industry has already lost over $1,000,000,000 and continues to lose money at at rate of $200,000,000 a day. That can't be sustained much longer. It's just not good for any of us. -
