EMB145 Cabin Trainer installed at ATL Flight Safety

The contract was up with the CRJ trainer and ASA did not renew it, hence it got yanked out. FSI put the ERJ trainer in there for basic FA training.

New ATP Written Requirements, (what people are missing)

Yes, we have covered the weight issue here already, but the part you're missing is that the ATP program CANNOT be part of the standard new hire training. It has to be done BEFORE and separate from that. So how many regionals are going to shell out the extra money for that program? I can tell you...

    New rules to obtain ATP.

That last part came right from the final rule also. I agree as it is written that 121, 135, 141 and 142 can all offer the training, but it is also written that it cannot be absorbed into or be part of initial new hire training. Places like FSI already have these programs in place and have...

    New rules to obtain ATP.

OK, I wasn't entirely correct from what I heard, but this is what I found in the rule. Basically it says that an air carrier can offer the course, but it cannot be part of initial or new hire training and therefore must be separate. Since the airlines are not in the business to offer 'flight...

    New rules to obtain ATP.

Nope, the required training has to be done OUTSIDE of any air carrier.

    New rules to obtain ATP.

It is not at all the chicken or the egg. New pilots will have go to a course at FlightSafety or such, pay the big money for that program, get their ATP, then get hired by the regionals. FSI already has the program in place. I have seen it. They just waiting on the victims.

    New rules to obtain ATP.

The way I understand it, is they have to have this done prior to getting hired at even a regional. You have to have this done before you can take the written portion, so i doubt any regional is going to add 30 hours of classroom AND 10 hours of sim time before that new hire starts the regular...

    How does it work...?

At CAir the company reserved the car, you paid for it and later expense'd it and in most cases it was part of duty time. Depends if you over nighted in between.

    Wheels up

I would think that these aircraft will come from CAir. Pilots? hmm have to wait and see. Don't know many that will want to go to that schedule though.

    Sleeping in Planes

When you guys had JFK short naps many years ago, I've slept in the plane more than I can count. (yes, with the APU screaming all night long)

    Latest XJT/ASA Gouge?

I did my time there long ago and it was all doom and gloom back then also, but overall, its a much better place than many others out there and you have to start somewhere.

    Latest XJT/ASA Gouge?

Have a friend interviewing there next week on the ASA side. (ATL) Who has the latest gouge on what to expect in the interview?

    19 More Gone

Nov. seniority list is out now.. looks like 101 remaining and 10 FO's....for now. I can't imagine them not having at least a few downgrades..? who knows..

    19 More Gone

You're less than 109. There are 5-6 people on the October list that are gone already, including #1!

    The Costa Citationair

I know of 6 pilots coming off the seniority list within these last 2 weeks. Hopefully all can find something else before being put on the street. ( well, except for the managament minions and Kool-Aid drinkers )

    CJ2 crash @ Santa Monica

Looks like a tire popped on landing and they lost control, veered off into the hangar.

    Jeppesen instrument approach notes

The way it looks to me, is that neither Runway 4's are not authorized at night, except for a straight in to 4R OR a circling to Appr to 4L..
