USAir jumpseat - "are you listed?"

Depends on the station. In CLT and LGA they appear to prefer that you don't list. I asked a CLT agent and said that even if I did list via the phone they'd still have to change it. For some reason all of the smaller stations I've js'd out of, they prefer you to list via the phone. ROA and RIC...

    Delta Operational Procedures Amplified (DOPA)

Anything is an improvement on our current books. The very fact that the ER fleet publishes a doc starting each section with "where does it say...." speaks volumes.

Delta new hire class makeup going forward...

But was 50% ALPA DCI? I found that little ALPA self preservation kind of disgusting personally.

    Delta 5 day domestic trips

I did a few 5 days on the 9 and on the bus while on reserve and frankly I don't see the appeal. In my experience they weren't commutable on either end so what's the point? Granted I was on reserve so I probably wasn't seeing a good representation of a "good" 5 day. But an uncommutable 5 day? Really?

    Delta: The king of overbooking

Kind of what I was thinking as well. To blame overbooking in this situation is a stretch. But hey my wife road along on my 24 hr Aruba overnight this weekend. Got 1st class as well. Do that a few times a year plus a vacation or two and it's hard to say nonreving is a worthless benefit. You just...

    Southwest CEO Opts for DELTA.

I thought only active CEO's had pos space off line for business purposes. Retired CEO's retain pos space for life on their airline.

DeltaNet Seems to Work on Safari Now

There was a note in one of the trim tabs or on DLNet in the past week or two that IT did an update making DLNet and iCrew Safari compatible. Don't remember which one it was but it's there somewhere.

Skywest/asa/xjt...no excuse for not having industry best contract!!

Exactly...then why not merge the lists?!
  9. TNPILOT

Skywest to buy Mesa and ExpressJet

All correct. Section 1 Part D, 3a is what you are referring to on page 12. It basically says that if XJT is acquired or merged then the ALPA merger policy will apply if the other carrier is ALPA. It states further that if the other carrier is not ALPA then Sections 3 and 13 of the...

    Delta hiring

Fair question. I don't feel entitled to anything. DAL obviously has no obligation to offer an interview to any of us. I just want a chance to interview.

    Delta hiring

Fair enough. Is there an MEC position on it? Perhaps "position" is too strong of a word but for lack of a better term...

    ExpressJet's new CEO, Republic Redux?

There are times when I believe that board hurts us a lot more than it helps...let me rephrase, that is MOST of the time.

    Delta hiring

So ACL, should this happen do you see any positives for former NWA poolies with regard to interviews at the new DAL?

    Non-rev travel on American MIA-PLS

That will be low season there so I would think you'd be ok. Hotel rates will certainly be lower.

    BKK-NRT-JFK Nonrev / Jumpseat DAL / United

IMO you should take a ZED fare whenever you are traveling overseas. Especially when you are returning from a foreign country. Gate agents overseas don't always understand what a "jumpseat" is and ZEDs can be difficult to purchase once you are at an outstation. For one thing, a lot of foreign...

JetBlue to start hiring later this year...

What's reserve life like at JetBlue? Assuming you can drive to work. What are min days off?

    Delta Jumpseat to Mexico???

If possible I would bring a ZED fare as a backup just in case the gate agent down there doesn't understand the whole jumpseating phenomenon. I can't speak for DAL but at my airline they don't really deal with jumpseaters down there too much. The ZED will generally include all departure taxes and...

United partial gear up in EWR?

Paul Lasiuk from Chicago was on the plane. "I've had bumpier landings here in Newark... The pilot did a great job," he said. Sounds like the crew did a great job.
