Furloughing 220 effective Jan. 5 & 132 (or 135?) effective Feb. 5. It appears UAL may be calling all furloughees -- Jan. & Feb. today/ASAP.
It was great while it lasted.
Sorry to bu++ in on your thread -- am PCS'ing to Laughlin (T38 IP) this summer & would appreciate any very current intel regarding home-buying situation there -- good agents, not-so-good agents, areas to concentrate & avoid, whatever-- thanks & looking forward to this assignment.

Anyone else in early-to-mid stages of RAD & seem to be stuck? Expecting that furlough notice from UAL anytime now & getting uncomfortable about the silence from USAF regarding RAD. . .
FWIW, have been out of USAF since 09/1998. Anyone with current RAD experience? Thanks for any helpful input.
Re: It will get shot down
Just wondering, what is the source is for this "additional furlough of 300" -- has management officially stated this? Just a threat so we'll pass the ERP? Anyone with reliable source for this info?
If reliable, what's the timetable? When loads drop in September...
Anyone recently returned to active duty AF? (Or in the pipeline?)Am looking for current info on time frame once all paperwork's in. Are pilots actually being returned to flying jobs?
Just interested in updated info. Please reply here or PM me.
Thanks.
First, P-3 Adub, I hope your leave of absence works for you. There are 112 folks system wide who are military leave of absence and another 75 on other leaves of absence. The junior most seniority number as of today is 9580. I am 9407.
727, I like your arithmetic. My fingers + toes are...
This response is a personal perspective only--not an attack on anyone in this thread. With regard to UA recalling furloughed pilots, here is what I know, and it's **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** little for sure.
Spoke with a DEN based UA Flight Mgr who stated that it was his...
[Wife of SFOA320 here, who has lots of practice dealing with medical insurance & claims.]
Don't you have the option of having both? Your company plan would always pay first & then Tricare would be secondary (for whatever Tricare covers these days).
You need to put on paper the costs of...

Thanks for the info.
Yes, UAL. Expect to surplus to 737 momentarily, if oh-so-lucky enough to miss 4/1 possible furlough.
And if it's back to USAF, that'll be OK too. Will go the 5 1/2 more years to retirement & then see what the world has turned into.
Just trying to get all the facts...
Are we going to have to wait until the 15th for notification? I thought the delay of furlough that ALPA worked out in Nov 2001 included allowing UAL to give only 15 days notice rather than 30?
UAL did give the 3/1 furloughees 30 days notice, though.
Hangin' in there with ya. (Barely.)
(Please forgive if questions already asked & answered.)
1. If return to active duty, will military pay for move to duty station?
2. What if they've lost your medical records?
3. Do I get new flight suits, or do I have to patch up the old ones that I have? :)
4. Anyone interested in...
Holy rodent poop, here's the answer!
Make your mom & girlfriend/wife happy: Fly a jet with 2 engines.
(Or, for the PC crowd: make your parents & spousal unit happy.)
FLAME AWAY.
:o
This one is for all UAL pilots: what do you think is the significance of the 2 Mar 02 effectivity of the UAL Surplus Reduction Leading to Retirement proposal as posted on the UAL MEC member's side today, 13 Dec.? UAL78, do you have any old-head insight? Thanks. My best to all UAL pilots out...
Major Mason: Thanks for the warm wishes. Can't wait until you try to apply--you may find you get zero interview offers. Gee, wonder why? But to get more to the point: you sir, are the simplest of all TOOLS, you are now a.k.a. "Wedge". Wedge, you cannot possibly fathom the intentions of...
