Depending on pax configuration the 737 -800 does have the range and payload capability to go STAN or DUB to EWR/JFK. ATA was starting to do it with Military flights before April 3.
Thanks for the information. The compensation is not bad for a part time thing. The insurance is mostly for liability and covering the deductable.

The reason they are probably keeping 9 of the B717 is one to keep the certificate alive since you cant just add new planes over night. The other reason might be that someone else might own the leases not boeing so there for they are not willing to deal. Being from a deceased airline myself...
Hey I am looking for some ideas on CFI insurance. It looks like I might be instructing at a place that requires me to carry it just dont know what type of coverage to get and who to go with. If any one has any ideas I apperciate it.

I am just wondering how are you teaching in a sim or ground school without a CFI rating. If I am not mistaken either CFI, ATP or AGI is required. I myself would like to find a opprotunity with Flightsaftey but no jet time.

Sitting here in the office it is very sad day. If you have never been through this it is very difficult to say the least. Planning where your planes will sit as the end is here. I wish all the best as our industry changes and most are left out in the cold.

Can anyone tell me how hard it is to get a florida base out of training. I have 135 min and a little bit more. Thinking about changing careers and was looking at Airnet and some other cargo operators.

After reading the official SEC 8 filing and also reading what TZSkipper has to say I tend to agree with his/her understanding of it.

You might be right
There is some strang language in Worlds SEC 8 filing about World being the surviving company. So things might not be so great for ATA after all.
I think all of the pilot groups will be fine might be a contract re-alignment or something like that but the other labor groups might not be so safe and that goes for all parties.

ATA was talking about getting ride of theirs as close as 3 days ago but all of sudden in a meeting they did a 180 and are keeping it. Hmm sound interesting. I have heard that World was wanting to get out of passenger carrying service due to the high cost of Flight Attendants contract
It appears in the companies release to all the employees this will probably take a year or so to sort things out. Does any know if World or North American has a hanger in NY or Atlanta
