    NetJets Medical Exam

dr baehr (sp?) has grounded a few of our pilots for high bp - a condition they didn't even have - just nerves on exam day. once hired, don't go back.

Purdy Neat Stuff Roller Bags ?

i've had the pns 26" metal frame for about 4yrs now - only complaint is that it's heavy. some minor dents in the frame but other than that looks near new. it's amazing what you can stuff into this thing!

    Pilots making the NJA/NJI move!

hopefully they learned their lesson from the bbj - but we all know nja - lessons are never learned. the bbj-clot was such a fiasco it wasn't funny. they wasted so much time and money on some of those guys it was sad. and in the end, njla conceded they weren't really needed.

    Pilots making the NJA/NJI move!

not sure where you read a new-hire will have to buy a type rating... it says you'll get hired by nja with an nja seniority number, but you won't get an NJA type rating (400xp, 800xp, 2000, etc). you will get the g type.

    International Forum

neat tips would be helpful. we get SO much support (NOT!) on the planning side the tips would be nice. as for the ambien - be careful - must wait 48hrs to fly after taking it. at netjets it's usually min rest - or even 18-20hrs and back at it again.

    NJA and BBJ Long Term

even operating only three planes now (2 domestic, 1 jakarta) we're still short on pilots. just think - every pilot in the bbj gets 4 weeks vacation, plus recurrents. then, you have 3 pilots in indonesia who get a month off when they get back, and when they come home another set of 3 goes down...

    NJA and BBJ Long Term

down to three birds - one of those based in singapore indefinitely as of mid-jan (operating for a client). this leaves only two here at home. rumors abound, but as usual no word from mgt. some of the rumors: miami air -800 but it had a tail-strike, lease a/c 191 that we just sold to a guy...

    Netjets Frequent flyer

don't do points.com unless you have to - really crappy conversion rate - for like 10000 hilton points you'll get about 1000 miles - not worth the loss. example - xfer 87049 aa pts to us, they'll only give me 10000 us points.

    T-Mobile International

the t-mobile service on our blackberries works great. have only found two places where it doesn't work - japan (no service at all since japan is on a different system than any us system - we rent a phone on arrival) and saudi (the SMS phone text messaging and phone call functions worked...

    Reserve @ NetJets?

you ARE allowed to stack your 4 hard days together in one month. however, i highly doubt chop suey will let you use the last 4 of one month and the first 4 of the next month.

    NetJets Question

    njla bbj's are operated 91k/135.

    NetJets Question

actually, with the new agreement, the bbj f/o slots will probably go junior. could be pic AND sic bids after the holidays - at least 2 f/o's going back and with the new extend day rules (only allowed 3/qtr) we may end up short of pilots. junior f/o's due to the fact they can make more as a capt...

    ATP and Type 1 Diabetes

check out the new sport pilot rules - medical portion only requires a driver's license to be legal. it's not commercial flying, but he can still fly under those rules. limited to (approximately - don't have the exact numbers) 120kts, 1300lbs max weight, day/vfr i think, also only 2 seats in...

    New AA winglets...

for those of you with the winglets already installed on the 737's - do you have the strengthened wing/tail structure allowing 100% speedbrake deployment in flight? can't remember the reason but our (njla bbj) speedbrake is limited to about 20% of normal deplyment - adds a whopping 300fpm on the...

New NEt JEts pay rates !

bbj upgrade time? infinite now since we're losing planes - even before that last capt bid was almost 5yrs ago. may be some turnover in the f/o ranks with the new t/a, have to wait and see.

New NEt JEts pay rates !

just for the record, we are now down to 3 bbj's at njla - #5 sold a year ago, #4 sold yesterday. currently shopping for 2 30-50 seaters - but hard to find any used 7-800's. 5yr bbj capt is $167k - tha's 5 in type (about where all our guys are) not w/company.

    JetBlue emergency landing (merged)

about 5-7yrs ago an HP 320 had an indentical incident at cmh. nosewheel was turned 90 degrees. only 50-60 pax i think, moved them to the rear of the plane, made normal landing holding nose off. when nosewheels touched the both immediately blew and ripped off, but the wheels remained attached...
