I wish I had more time to give to this thread but I'm pretty busy right now. However the system is not crashing. Issues that we're having mostly involve the files coming from the company and their format. The system has not "crashed" at all. -

Let me take the easiest one first. The reserves lines are determined by line average. If you run the average too low then you force the system to create more line holders, thus less reserves. If you run it too high you create less line holders and more reserves. The software does have a way... -

The audit trail is something that needs impovement on smartpref. No argument there. There is a diagostics tab that we have access to but not in the production version. But it's half written in binary and the other half in aramaic! :) -

The point to take from that is that it's the work rules that matter. Many pilots we interviewed had the same sentiments about flightline on their property. It's about the work rules. -

The algorythms used to globalize are different that what you see in other systems. Many systems will build lines 1-100. Then when it gets to liine 101 it will say it is unable to complete the line due to overall system constraints. So it goes back up and takes what it needs. Smartpref is... -

I agree with you. I was trying to argue the point the previous poster made that he got to vote on all the systems out there as being false. You folks didn't see anything other than flightline. After all the vendors gave their 1-2 hour demonstration. -

This is not accurate. The report we gave to both MEC's in Sep of 2010 was that flightline would be acceptable under xx conditions. Those conditions were carefully selected in order to prevent the issues inherant in the system. They would have however added cost to an already costly system... -

Other than the cost for 3 of us to be offline to do this work....zero. Which one of us would be offline for the merger stuff anyway. Crewing solutions has been baring the costs of this for the last 12-18 months. The company hasn't paid them a cent yet. -
