Our flight dept. is looking for a way to have a back up gps in our CL-30 when crossing the atlantic. We want to be able to put in our crossing waypoints in case of aircraft gps failure. Have looked at the Garmin 96c and wonder if the antenna will work through the heated wind screens. If the...
I've been tasked with putting together a International Flight ops manual for our part 91 company. So far I've got a basic outline from a company that writes Intl. manuals and a copy of the ICAO North Atlantic Ops. Is this what everyone generally needs or is their a lot more to it than this...
Would anyone be willing to share their NBAA salary survey numbers for a CL-300 captain, 2 aircraft, part 91 flight operation out of the midwest. I would be greaty appreciative.
Somebody should have buzzed Hoeksema's happy little home up there on Lake Michigan. God that guy makes me sick. Tipped one myself on Sat. for all the current and ex Skyway guys and gals. I had a blast when I was there from 98-01, good luck to everyone.
Our sales rep gave us a pretty good scoop on the proposed Lear 70. Said hopefully to be announced at this years NBAA, but not sure. Aircraft is said to be 3 feet shorter than the CL300, with a stand up cabin and 2800NM range. It will have Collins avionics probably the epic package. The price...
Heading to St. Lucia in May, anyone have any recommendations for a good hotel/resort? Any other useful tidbits about the island would be appreciated as well.
You can run over to Fairfield and tour Travis Air Force base home of the C-5's. Also in Fairfield is a Budweiser brewery you can tour. And if this doesn't do it for you there's also the Jelly Belly Candy company that you can tour (It was actually very interesting). Make sure you head up the...
The short version:
Fuel Burns 1600 1st hr. 1100-1200 2nd 1100 every hr after at 43-47k.
With full fuel at 45000' going LRC we quite frequently do 1700NM with 7 pax and bags with up to 60 kts headwind.
With the BR mod you can climb straight to 45000' at max weight as long as your temp is...
Go to bombardier.com and click to the 45 menu, you can see cabin layouts and download all of the tech specs. The internal cabin length I believe is just short of 20' and the height is just about 5'. The baggage door is 33" long and around 27" tall, with a maximum weight of 500lbs. We have fit...
Baggage space in the 45 is excellent, we carry a ton of different shapes and sized items without a problem. If your runway is 5000' and 500ft msl at 30c you'd better be looking at a 45XR to get some range. Using our numbers you would take a 1000lb hit, having a 20,500lb T.O. weight. This...
I know this has been covered before, but I cannot find the numbers. Our company is reviewing our salaries and I need the latest salary figures for a Lear 45 captain operating in the Great Lakes region. If somebody would be willing to post them here or PM me, I would greatly appreciate the help.
The company only has a CP and a Captain. The turnover rate was a new Capt. about every six months. So there really is no one to promote within. For about the last year, I understand they have been using a lot of pilot service.
