VFR Climb vs. VFR Climb on course

Actually I think some 121 operators (such as SkyWest) have it in their Ops Specs, though it may be specially written in. Avbug, Thanks for your response. I was pretty sure they were the same thing, just wanted some other input. If anyone else has differing viewpoints on this, I'd be...

VFR Climb vs. VFR Climb on course

When on an IFR clearance, is there a difference between VFR Climb and VFR Climb on course? I've heard that a VFR Climb on course requires you to actually fly the course (including the DP), just in VFR conditions. I appreciate any info. Thank you. FD

    PIC during IOE?

Quick question--when a person is getting IOE, do they log it as PIC or SIC? Does it matter if it is 135 or 121? Just wondering. Thanks for any info.

    CRJ study sites?

Just wondering if anyone knows any good sites for studying to prepare for CRJ class (flash cards, helpful hints, etc). Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

    Alaska Airlines with 2/year degree?

I heard from someone the other day that Alaska dropped its requirement for a 4-year degree if someone has a 2-year degree and commensurate turbine PIC to compensate. Does anyone know anything about this? Are they hiring people with 2 year degrees? What would be a qualifying amount of PIC if...

right seat of T-prop to left seat RJ?

side stick-n, Thanks for all the advice. I will definitely be talking to people who I've flown with and who have gone through the training. And as any chance to even upgrade is probably a year away, I'll be thinking about it alot and figuring out if I'm up to it. My posting on this board...

right seat of T-prop to left seat RJ?

Well, feel free to try posting it again. I'm interested to hear as many points of view as possible. If not, you can PM me. Thanks.

right seat of T-prop to left seat RJ?

Thanks to everyone who put in their two cents--I still have time to think it all over, or maybe they'll run some e120 upgrade classes and all my problems will be over (fingers crossed). Either way, it really helps to have input from everyone to help me think things over. Stay safe.

right seat of T-prop to left seat RJ?

Bailout, Sorry, I guess I didn't explain myself well enough--I would actually prefer the E120 upgrade, as I know the plane, etc. But with the way my company's getting RJ's and retiring 120's, the RJ upgrade will probably come as soon or sooner. That was why I was wondering about going...

right seat of T-prop to left seat RJ?

Thanks for the input. My company has a one-year seat lock in the right seat--if we could go for just a few months and then upgrade at our leisure, that's definitely the way I'd go. Oh well, I'll just keep thinking it over. Thanks again.

right seat of T-prop to left seat RJ?

I hear ya, brother. I bounce back and forth on what to do everyday. I know a lot of really junior e120 cpts who successfully transitioned to RJ capt and didn't have much more than time than I'll have in the e120--but part of their's was PIC time, too. Still, most had no time in the a/c at all...

right seat of T-prop to left seat RJ?

I already posted this on the "General" board and got a good response, but thought I'd try it here also.Thanks. New guy to the board here, just looking for advice. I've been an FO at a strong regional for over two years on the e120. We also have RJs, but I haven't bid it yet because I want to...

right seat of T-prop to left seat RJ?

Wow--thanks for the quick responses everyone. And more input is definitely welcome. Yeah, the one thing I really ponder about is my lack of jet time. I do have the chance to be a jet FO, but its a year seat-lock and the next class I could probably get is in two months. That would...

right seat of T-prop to left seat RJ?

New guy to the board here, just looking for advice. I've been an FO at a strong regional for over two years on the e120. We also have RJs, but I haven't bid it yet because I want to upgrade. and don't want to start commuting yet (don't have to commute for e120). However e120 upgrade classes...
