Let foreign airlines fly US domestic routes article

The board is too quiet this morning??. http://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/fli....routes/4329825/ Try not to laugh too loudly the next time a flight attendant makes one of those pre-flight announcements to thank you for your business and say, "We know you have a choice in airlines." Now...

    Mesa experience

I did some commuting on mesa this weekend and just wanted to say it was very nice. On the way back, the plane was full. The captain had MX fix a seat instead of just defering at an outstation so i could get on. Then a company jumpseater sat in the cockpit to make sure i had a seat. Thank you!

    NWA in the desert pic

http://www.airliners.net/open.file/995382/M/ I am just confused as to why they paint all these planes in the new colors and then park them. I know it is a MX function, but this still seems strange. Some of the planes in this pic look like 757's? How much does it cost to paint a plane? You...

http://www.ntsb.gov/ntsb/brief.asp?ev_id=20050628X00880&key=1 I never did like the parking brake on the beech 1900. I can think of a number of times the plane rolled on me when i didn't want it to.

    141 checkrides

This is in regards to 141 schools which have self examining authority. If you bust a 141 checkride do you write this on future pilot applications? Such as an instrument stage 2 check or whatever? Or during a background check do all ratings you obtained through part 141 show as a pass if you...

    PIC or jet?

You have 4000 hours. 1000 PIC beech 1900. Zero jet time. What would be better for your career : another 1000 PIC beech 1900 time, or 1000 RJ FO time? The goal is to make it to a company flying larger equipment with better pay.

    Colgan vs allegheny

There is a lot of complaining about colgan....work rules, schedules, no per diem. I am guilty of it too. Basically we want colgan to be allegheny. What i think is a sleeper topic on these boards is that colgan growth is coming from flying routes that allegheny used to fly. ROC-LGA, BUF-ALB...

From USA Today: Rocket science? regional pay 10 years ago

I was wondering what the pay scales looked like at the regionals around 10 and 15 years ago. What did a first year FO make around the early 1990's? First year captain? Was it considered as bad as now? Did people complain about places like mesa back then?

    Colgan thread

think twice before PFT here. I have a nice story. I am starting my day by cleaning the airplane, preflighting, checking all the seats, (this is your job here...no flight attendent) The captain is checking the weather, checking MELs, and write ups etc. This is the stuff we do an hour before...
