    Commuting at southwest

I'm doing the hotel thing in Chicago sitting CA reserve. Only once have I had to buy an extra night in the hotel because they didn't use me. In October I got displaced to BWI so the company will pay for my hotel room for two nights of my reserve block if they don't use me. They'll pay up to...

    Will SL-10 pass?

This is my one and only input on this whole integration. I've jumpseated numerous times on Air Tran while chasing the captain seat. All the crews have been professional and welcoming. We'll have no problem flying together and I look forward to getting this whole process behind us.

To type or not to type that is the question? SWA

No, it's not. Southwest doesn't care where you get the type. Save your money and spend it on quality interview prep.

Southwest "Poolie" calls are going out

Tejas-Jet is being a smart ass. He's already a pilot at SWA. Apparently he's forgotten what it's like to wait for a class date.

SWA Poolies - Hiring to Start

OK, haven't posted in a while, but here's some advice. For all my military brethren out there, if SWA or Air Tran calls and offers you a class date, take it. I don't care if your Wing CC says life on earth will end as we know it if you get out, leave, right then. The wrong decision here could...

    Maxjet or Eos jumpseat info

I just flew with my family to England from Dulles roundtrip. I did not jumpseat, but I easily could have. There were seats available on both flights. If you sign up for their newsletter they will send you an email when they have a fare sale. I paid $3300 total for myself, my wife, and my...

    SWA 6 April Class

Or maybe it could be because J3CubCapt is already an instructor at SWA. So congratulations and welcome to the line. :)

JBers, we should be more careful

I don't know if flightinfo has the capability to create an area exclusively for Jetblue pilots, but I know Pprune . org does. Southwest has an active room over on PPrune and it allows for a "free flow" of ideas without all the comments from the peanut gallery. It would probably be a good idea...

    PASS Cards....again........sorry

I can't speak for others but the PASS cards have gotten me through three check rides. Every question I've been asked by a check airman has been covered by the cards. They are the only thing I use to study for a check ride. John Pansmith is also real good about keeping them up to date.

This article is mainly about one senator's "opinion." Who knows what the ATSB will actually do.

ProwlerJO seeks advice on next orders

If your goal is to fly for an airline it's a no brainer. Just ask yourself where you're going to get the most PIC turbine time. That will make you competitive at any airline. I would not be at SWA if it weren't for the three fun filled years I spent in Del Rio, TX. Instructing has it's...

? for any 1 Mar SWA New Hires

Ouch, there goes my reason for picking up that turn with a check airman on Apr 12th. Good luck with your IOE. The best piece of advice I can give is this. If a camera shows up during the overnight it's time to leave.

Helicopter Missions in the Air Force

Disclaimer: I am not now, nor have I ever been, a helicopter pilot. No one has mentioned the best part about flying helos in the Air Force, it's a kick @ss mission. Most of the flying is done very low, and relatively fast, at night. You also have a better chance of doing real world stuff...

    SWA vs. ATA: Schedules

It's very easy to get more than your guarantee. You can pick up extra trips through Monthly Open Time, Daily Open Time, Extra Fly lists and Voluntary Junior Assist. You can also pick up trips that other pilots are giving away. I live in domicile and I've averaged 113 trips a month. Last month...
