    I had a friend of mine that went through UPT with me who was 31 when he started...he was the "old guy". Now he's flying 17s with the MSANG. So age is waiverable, but only to a point...plus, the example I used above involved a guy who was an FE for that unit for many years, so they knew him well.

    Interesting...he listed the types of a/c he's flown: C172, T-6, F-16. Must've done sh!t hot in the T-6 to bypass the T-38 and the AT-38. Not to mention he's a fast mover if he trained on the T-6, then flew combat missions in OIF, then went searching for an RJ job.

    I would talk to someone who's smart on the military medical requirements for pilots. I do know that they are taking some people that had eye surgery but I also know there are alot of caveats to that. I'd check on it before you get any surgery done...has to be done by an AF approved...

    Yes you are correct....no one was killed....amazing. It's been a bad few years for the T2 community, however that's tempered with the fact that they've been doing alot of "real world" ops too. They lost one in Puerto Rico on a training mission a couple years ago, with all aboard lost.

    It's a TF/TA radar...Terrain Following/Terrain Avoidance. Allows the crews to fly into "denied" areas around 100 feet AGL at night to deliver their "customers". Unfortunately this one was lost doing regular trash hauling. What a mess.
