I was in LBB a few weeks ago. The hotel rooms are dated; but the people are friendly, the steak was awesome, and the discount was good. Lots of jobs down there with the oil boom.
Pro SWA:
No PBS! QOL is good for lineholders. The flexibility to move, trade, or giveaway trip is unmatched at other airlines. Pay is good, and most are happy to be at Southwest.
Con:
Long upgrades, may buy another airline someday.
Fair and equitable would have been better for all. It may have saved some AT captain seats, but it would have been much better for the junior SWA fo's. Any AT pilot without the PIC hours to meet SW hiring, welcome aboard, but on the bottom. IMO a straight ratios from top to bottom would have...
All I know is my wife has a number at United, and I know many of both sides of the fence. I have read all the emails and updates from the MEC and furlough committee, and it doesn't look good.
Management has been dragging their feet for years, and will continue as long as possible because...
You need a strike vote now! Management has shafted the mainline pilots for years, 1437 United on furlough...look at the rapid growth of Skywest at the expense of United pilots.

Great quarter...a nice steady profit is excellent.
The flashback may save your life. Lead is lead, and two's job is to be there, but not in this case.
ATC needs to plan accordingly, and not push the separation.
Anybody know of a company that offers long term disability insurance for pilots? I have called many companies but they don't insure pilots.
I am looking for "own occupation"....I would like a new policy or a supplemental to the policy I have through my union.
Thanks.

I have 14 May class date!

I am wondering if the software is compatable with a MAC and do you need a laptop for training?
Thanks.
I agree that folks with type may get called in sooner for the interview. However in my interview group in June, about 1/3 didn't have the type, and I know several hired without.
When you get the interview the job is yours type or no type. Be ready to any interview questions why you don't have...
