    Southwest Uniform Leather jacket

I was in the left seat at the Tran for 6 years, looking at the list,,, I still won't get back there for at least 3-4 years. That could change I guess. For now, I'm just enjoying my F.O. seniority and chilling out. Not in any hurry to commute again. FWIW

    San Juan PR Commute

We just did SJU-MCO a few days ago. Full flight. Both jump seats full. Talked with the jumpseater enroute and he says he sits up front a lot. It's probably doable, but you may be looking at a 2 leg commute. That, over the long term, will wear you out.

    US Airways jumpseat question

    Thx guys

    US Airways jumpseat question

I will be trying to jumpseat in a few days on US Airways out of PHX. It's been awhile since I've jumped on them, do you just go up to gate as usual or do you have to list online somehow? Thx

As of now.....flight 212 CAK-MCO (6:45am departure) shows 95 booked of 117 total..no nonrevs listed. The 2nd flight 214 (3:10pm departure) shows 98 booked of 117 total..no nonrevs listed on that as well.

    AAI to SWA Training Schedule

Alright, that makes sense. Being that the most senior AirTran pilot got placed 1300 something numbers down the global list....the senior SWA guys got the biggest bump due to the entire AirTran list being added behind them. As more AirTran guys get integrated....the seniority bump tapers off...

    AAI to SWA Training Schedule

RedFlyer65....I thought you guys all got a pretty decent system seniority bump? I have heard an average of around 10% some higher, some lower. Over the long haul that translates into a quicker upgrade for you...which really is more money...but that happens later down the road when you upgrade...

Questions for Airtran to SWA transition guys

Some quick questions: 1) It sounds like you can bring your wife along for the first few days. Does anybody do that? Is there info aimed specifically for spouses when they are there?? Trying to gauge if it is worth it or not (flying grandparents in to watch kids, etc). When I was at UAL..seemed...

    AirTran DRC - judgement !

Speaking of MCO, I was wondering how it works down there with the seasonal adjustments. Does SWA usually show more vacancies in the spring but reduce in the fall? I was thinking it might be the opposite, but maybe I heard it backwards.

    When can AirTran dump ALPA?

Wow, he just flew me up to work a few weeks ago. I said hello to him...he seemed to be in good spirits.

    Surviving red eyes

When you get in from your leg inbound to west coast, stay up as long as possible. I would try to stay up until 3 am if I could(6am east coast). Then go to bed, and don't worry about getting up. Sleep in as long as your body wants to... If I got 8-9 hours sleep(11 am wake-up), I wouldn't need...

    Delta vs Southwest??

I would agree...don't worry about what type of equipment you will fly. When I was getting recalled at UAL, I made the decision to stay at AirTran. I had buddies calling me up that thought I was crazy. Their arguments were: look at the airplanes you will fly at UAL, look at the places UAL...

    SWA crew names released

I think the Continental 737 in Denver that went off runway a few years ago the captain was on the tiller during the takeoff roll. I have always used the rudder pedals when on the runway, as that's how they trained me. I was simply told not to use the tiller on the roll,,,so that's what I do.

    Little Help

My advice would be to target a regional that has the growth you need to get to the left seat. The majors are looking at some massive retirements starting in the next 5 years...you need to put yourself in a position to be competitive for one of those slots. PIC time is the key to getting an...

What are the latest air train to SWA classes?

Looking at it, out of the 29 717 captain slots going to SWA FO, 24 volunteered and 5 were sent over involuntary. Those were for the October classes.

    Reserve at SWA...

Actually...for several months I flew nothing but red-eye lines. Basically report 8:30pm for night turn from Mke to Phx and back or Vegas and back. Get done at 5:30 am and catch first flight home. It is great for commuters...key is sleeping during day between red-eyes. I would bid them at SWA...

SWA delaying new planes, adding used Westjet birds --article

Can't argue with that, vixen, all valid points I'm sure an arbitrator would have considered.

SWA delaying new planes, adding used Westjet birds --article

All I'm saying was let an arbitrator figure that out, rather than GK. Who knows where it would have ended up, maybe better, maybe worse for us. But GK's actions in regards to this whole thing have been perceived as less than honest to the typical AirTran line pilot. Also, the decision to...

SWA delaying new planes, adding used Westjet birds --article

Ego??? And "we want it all and we want it now." huh... I didn't ask for this deal....and it's obvious you guys didn't want it,either. Since this thing went down I have had my base closed...lost my cpt seat on the 737...had to go thru ground school and get another type rating on an airplane...
