SWA pool is starting to drain!!!

Welcome guys, great to have you on property. Someone may ned to correct me but there is a great BBQ place right down the road from training. I think it's Sonny McBride's, we went and it was worth it. I think it was on the travel channel at some point for best BBQ's in america. Does anybody...

    Swa Pool 2

LAS a factor Gents, Take a look at the April, May, June vacancy. It looks like 2 more originators in LAS each month and a drawdown in OAK (and other places). I wonder at what point the company starts sending hard line FO's to LAS and helps to minimize the displacements. Thoughts?

Glad to hear it I am a commuter out of SLC and you guys along with Skywest are a class act. It's nice to hear something postive on this forum. PT

Read The Thread Not looking for sympathy just where the next class is going for their hardlines. If you can't keep it positive then Suck it poser.

    Swa Pool

Stuck in Oak I bid back to OAK in dec and have stagnated there for the Jan, feb, March Vacancy? From the words above it looks like April will offer an opportunity to get back to Vegas. OAK- Well oiled machine, crack town for crash pads, harder commute, better seniority and choice of...

    Southwest to buy AirTran...

Morris Guys at SWA There are many. Flew with one each of the past 6 months, IOE check airman was one. All but one was top notch and happy to be here. They brought A LOT of 737 knowledge to a technology phobic company. IMHO they helped SWA learn how to properly fly the 737NG. The...

Not good for the Southwest Poolies....

Give them the same treatment as a new hire interview While it has been a pleasure to write a rec online or letter for a great guy in hopes to sway PD and get him onboard, a negative online rec will work wonders to keep some of these guys that should have retired years ago from coming back...

Ok, who has the ACSC 5.0 gouge???

allpme.com AllPME.com Worked for me in 05'. Discouraged but not illegal. Takes 400 pages of dribble and puts in 35 pages. from there an effective "study group" help to narrow things down. If the website is no longer as stated just ask around, the info is still out there and readily...

    Worst Hotels you stay in?

my "complimentary" shampoo had already been used (at least once) at the Super 8 in Vegas this week.

    Updated SWA New Hire info.

TillerTurner, I do, but it's a call sign from another job and another airplane. In the military you pick up a call sign and after that most dudes don't remember your real first name. That's not a big deal unless some one with the same call sign does something really crazy and then every one...

    Updated SWA New Hire info.

Gents, I just finished IOE yesterday, what a great company. This data is a week old (7 Aug) but Pd lined up three class in August, two in Sept and potentially one in October. from everything I've heard, that will be it until year end. Beyond a month or so the class dates and numbers seem...

    Your Top 10 Airlines?

My plan is to stick with a "winner" and go wherever Frank Lorenzo does...um wait a minute, he's going to HE double hockey sticks (that's one reservation that will be honored for sure) Good leadership leads to sound decision making by leadership and ultimately to a solid...

    737 type

2nd K&S, about $7K I guess it all depends on where you live and the cost to get to the training/cost of the two week stay Be smarter than I was, study before you get there

    Typewriter for SWA?

This was the easiest method, scanned the docs and then save them on powerpoint slides, from there just add text boxes. The hard part is when you add up your hours and come up with a different total 6-9 times like I did. re-check your hours spread sheet a week prior to the interview and...

    Another Southwest question...

Some of us made the transition to keep the family from unraveling due to ill planned and spiraling overseas commitments made by civilian politicians. Money has very little to do with it. When you turn down the bonus and the check of the month club, it’s an aggregate financial loss to jump...

SWA timeframe from call to class

Thanks Guppy, It's a long drive from SLC anyway. I dug this up from another thread, good info: Updated SWA New Hire info. I thought I would start a thread on what all you new hires can expect once you are given a class date at SWA. This is based on my own experinces since I have been here...

SWA timeframe from call to class

Bob_Sacamano, Sorry to hear about your uncle. One question for you guys, how important do you think it is to bring a car to training? I can't remember what's around the Holiday Inn or if the hotel shuttle will drop us off downtown. Airline training is uncharted territory, so I'm trying to...

SWA timeframe from call to class

Skyflier, Did PD mention if the 6/13 and 6/27 classes are full or are they still building them? I'm not available until 6/12 (terminal start date) so the 13th would be a tight turn but the 27th would be muy bueno. I'm reluctant to call and bug them, as you stated earlier they have been...
