    DAL pay table question

When one upgrades from FO to captain how do you determine the rate of pay. For example, if one was a 12th year 757 FO and upgraded to 717 Captain, would you go to year 1 717 Captain Pay or to year 12 717 Captain pay?? Thanks all.

    Controller trainees

Hey All, Thinking about a career switch from pilot to controller, but my problem is my age. Just hit 32 a month ago. Have any of you heard of exceptions being made to the age 31 rule and if so under what circumstances? Thanks BT

Net Jets to Furlough 500...??? Right...

Is it a possibility that we'll furlough....always a possibility. Do I think it will happen, in a word NO. It would need to be in the neighborhood of a 15 month furlough, from what I understand, to make it financially prudent. There are "poison pills" in our contract where the company has to...

    50 Aircraft?

Fisch, I believe we have on the order of 45 Ultras left. Just dropped one off in LUK the other day that was getting sold. They were going to be ripping the engines off that night.

    Schedule, lifestyle, fitness

Hey Len, I have trained for a marathon while working at NJA and I know of several pilots with us who are in the elite level for triathlons and marathons. So in short the answer is yes. In long it depends more on the individual then the job. If you want to train, you will find the time and...

    Nja/nji

I gotta agree with Flylow.....quite a few NJI guys that I have talked to are excited about the future of one big happy family(even if it might be a little disfunctional). I would bet somewhere before the busy season in 2009. I don't see it happening until at least the 2nd quarter next year...

    NJ contract extension

My solution would be DOH, as is currently proposed, with pay protection for everyone. ie...if there is a GIV capt or fo that is junior to you then you get the money as well. I have no desire to fly a G since I have a 2 hour ass, but there are G-IV capt's junior to me on the seniority list. The...

    NJ contract extension

jpeace, The basic meat of the extension involves the capturing of 85% of the US based international flying. The short version means that NJI must be integrated with NJA. If the 85 % target is met then the contract can be extended by 3 years. With that extension we will get a 4% raise each year...

    Warren Buffet report on Netjets

B19, What you have just said is simply more proof that the union can help or hurt the company. If we're all moving in the same direction(and that is the way we're headed) then things work very well. I'm not saying that we're all sitting around a camp fire singing kumbuyah, but things are...

    NetJets hiring percentage

I think he was saying that we don't just want a warm body in the seat, but someone that will contribute to safety, teamwork, and overall growth of the company. It is true that there are fat, lazy, complaining, non-professional pilots in EVERY operation, but we would like to keep those limited to...

Netjets Hawker 4000s - How Many Before End of 2008?

Talked with the Hawker-Beechcraft people in ATL the other day and according to the mechanics the delay is because everytime something gets changed they have to rewrite some code in the avionics. Supposedly everything runs through the avionics so the smallest change can have big effects. Don't...

A different NJA question, I promise!!

Speed, If you need time off for the baby it's not a problem....called FMLA. When my wife was pregnant with my son she had a difficult pregnancy. I used FMLA for 5 months and when that was tapped out I was able to get a personal leave for another 7 months. There was no hesitation from the company...
