Not in a Challenger, but having used it in another turbine a/c I can remind you that the XM weather stops at the border... Nothing outside the continental 48. There may be another subscription for wider coverage, but I don't recall there being one two years ago when I used the 496.
These ads are not run by, or for, the poor summit security guards making 20k.
They are run by, and for, the union who wishes to take that work away from Summit, or represent Summit, and for JB to pay twice as much for the service.
Never met a 690 pilot that didn't love flying the airplane, myself included. A great workhorse of an airplane that performs excellent and is an absolute pleasure to fly.
Make sure you have a GOOD mechanic with lots of 690 experience close by... Also, make sure your prebuy is done by...
Honeywell Primus Epic.
5 8x10" screens.
Loved it, but it took a few minutes to get used to the slightly different presentation of information, and of course, everything was in the wrong place!
Flew it today. 12 minutes from takeoff to FL350 and .83M (with a level off that I blew right threw...)
You can't even compare this airplane to the Sovereign, it's in a whole different class.
How about 2 packs? 4 independent generators available up to FL350? Autothrottles? Outclimbs a...
I don't know the Cessna, but can weigh in on the 45.
Reliability hasn't been a problem for us, no major problems and only a couple minor electrical glitches to deal with.
Bombardier support is not the best, but it is clear that they know it and are trying hard to fix it. Wichita seems to...
Owners are looking at a Citation X. I would like to run some flight plans side by side with our current aircraft, so I need a donor performance profile for fltplan.com.
I can trade a Lear 45 and/or AC690! ;)
I used the lightspeed 30-3G while flying piston twins and turboprops. Same feedback as CA1900, excellent noise cancelling and the most comfortable I ever tried. I'm sure all the airplanes I was flying were louder than the KA 200 as well.
I must admit I liked the ability to plug my MP3 player...
Ok, so I'm confused.
What model commander is it? What engines does it have?
Are you flying this single pilot?
Did the weather cause you to scrub your trip last night?
Oh, by the way...
The local detailing service visited our hangar recently. On a Lear 45, they did the following:
Hand polish from tip to tail with supercoat
Polish all brightwork. Leading edges of wings, vertical and horizontal stabs, and all window surrounds.
Detail gear legs, gear wells...
Alaska, don't forget to wipe the struts! (old joke...)
You freakin guys that think you're too good to take out the trash make me want to puke. You're a pilot for cryin out loud, it's not like you invented the cure for Cancer or something!
You all remimded me a guy I used to fly with. He told stories about being a retired goverment agent (undercover type) and flashed a badge at the counter looking for discounts at the Hotel.
Don't get me going on this one!
