Looks like it would have been a bad idea. I heard a Legacy picking up their clearance to Page, AZ a few days back, out of KSMO. Their final destination after Page? Chicago. I guess the Legacy can't even depart a 5000' runway to go to Chicago when it's wet - it can only go 250 miles!! LOL. Then... -

Two words - operator error. The Falcon brakes work well, IF you use them properly. When I flew the Legacy on a demo, yeah the brakes were fine, but they DO get hot, even on landing. To deny that would be a lie. LD - Like I said earlier in the thread, the Legacy is an ok corporate shuttle. As... -

Of course you don't operate a Gulfstream at Mmo. Mmo in the G550 is Mach .885. It's routinely flown at Mach .85 though. Yeah, that's why you see Legacy's all over TEB. Because it's such a popular corporate jet. :rolleyes: -

Which aircraft can go CRQ to Hawaii?
ARINC Direct. Their numbers were spot on, from my experience. I am another one that wouldn't take the 50EX to Hawaii from CRQ. In the 50, I think you have some courage to do it. No matter how you work it, more than 50-60 knots on the nose, and you have a wet footprint. There's my two cents... -

LS - Yeah, Hawaii is not a problem, as long as the winds are not too strong. There have many more than a few days I couldn't do SAN to PHOG, even at LRC w/o a wet footprint. -
