    COEX losing 69 Aircraft

"No we are going to be laughing when Mesa drills a mountain in Mexico." "69 jets + Mesa = smoking hole in mexico." Comments like these are IT for me...I'm done with this board. To say something like that, and admit that you'd actually laugh at the death of human beings...is sad. Actually...

    mesa THE WhoRE

dwhsunday...hmmmm...dwhsunday....that name really, really sounds familiar. Where do I remember that name from? Hmmmmm... Oh yeah...THAT'S IT! Care to remind us all why you're so bitter at Mesa dwhsunday? Seems like you were really interested in working here at one point in time. Or was...

    COEX losing 69 Aircraft

RP170, I think you know by now that I'm not waving the Mesa flag. My response was a defensive reaction to what I viewed as a very immature, lack of substantiation post by dknt. As I've said in a previous post, attrition at Mesa is high because this isn't exactly a great company to work for...

    mesa THE WhoRE

Ditto on the "Barney" jacket...it defines cheesy. Mesa needs to be more strict, to say the least, on adhering to its "Uniform 101" code. I'm appauled by what I see from my bretheren...cotton Dockers, black Reebok tennis shoes, and every color and style of (unapproved) jacket there is. Pathetic...

    Mesa Upgrade????

Good question. I'll take a stab based on speculation. CRJ: Someone got awarded CA recently having been with the company for 2 years. Will that be the trend? Who knows. ERJ: Although it's not the Freedom of old (just the certificate, not the scabs) there's still a negative connotation of that...

    COEX losing 69 Aircraft

real mature, dnkt. Since I'm a Mesa pilot based in ORD, perhaps we can schedule a time for us to meet up so you can "tell me what you think". Here's your chance...face-to-face. PM me so we can coordinate. The last I looked, I had 16 days off this month...nothing to brag about, but it's a tad...

    mesa upcoming classes

I'll second the advice of not going to Mesa...and I work here/there. Don't be naive (like me!) and accept the first gig that's offered. I know that seems to be what everyone recommends, but trust me...it can be a VERY regrettable decision. I too was ready for a change from instructing, and...

    Mesa on CASS?

RP170, I think it has something to do with a recent Harley-Davidson promotion whereby you get unlimited Butterball turkeys for the year when you buy at least 13 Harley's. ;) And thanks for the heads-up, turbodriver.

    UEX regional access to SkyN

As for Mesa, we have access to "expressnet" (which I assume is the same as the SkyNet you referenced) which allows to check loads, list, etc. I just got my password to start using it recently...it's great! I had just about had enough of the phone system. Recently, when I was prompted for what...

    Mesa on CASS?

No CASS, but we all got Butterball turkey coupons for Thanksgiving. Hmmm...free turkey, or CASS? Tough call

    Xmas/Holiday Bonus?

At Mesa we get a very thoughtful card from JO with a picture of him flipping the bird. That's to be expected, but I'm not sure why he has his family in the background mooning. Uncalled for if you ask me.

Van ride with another crew, interesting comment...

I just don't get it, I really, really don't. Almost every time I read a post on this forum, the constant need of some to continue to bash other pilot groups is just plain sickening. This mentality is the sole reason that we pilots apparently can't even walk by each other in the terminals and...

    Mesa shuts down another one

Personally, I'm at Mesa because I see it as a means to an end. Period. The company uses me, and I use the company...to build time and get out of here. That's always been the way it is here. I doubt anyone actually applies to Mesa thinking "hmmm...what a great airline to spend the rest of my...

Aloha ʻino Mesa! Shame On You!

Fly-n-hi, please don't feel that the words (and opinion) of synchoff represent the pilots of Mesa. Nothing could be farther from the truth. I think I speak for the pilot group here in saying that none of us want to fly the 190's because we're well aware of the low-balled rate that we would...

Aloha ʻino Mesa! Shame On You!

I don't think any of us here at Mesa know what JO has up his sleeves on this whole Hawaii thing. Personally, I hope he gets his ass handed to him...even if it's at our own expense. If he tries to pull off another Freedom (and who doubts he will?) I would really, really hope that there's enough...

I agree with Chip...h25b hit the nail right on the head.

    Mesa?

The bottom line (coming from a Mesa pilot) of this thread: Do yourselves a favor (and trust me, this will be the best advice you'll ever get)...DON'T come to Mesa. Here are just a few examples why, and some comparisons between Mesa and other carriers (i.e. defined as "ELSEWHERE") MESA: -...

    Mesa?

I'm not really sure what reserve times are like on the ERJ, Dash or 1900. For the CRJ, reserve time has been fairly short due to attrition, and overall lack of staffing (which will always be the case). Since PHL just closed, and ORD is ramping up, it's hard to say. Upgrades are anyone's...

    Mesa?

The majority of the hiring right now is due solely to attrition, and it's anyone's guess as to which A/C a new hire will get. Previous classes recently have been a mix of CRJ, ERJ, Dash, and 1900 (which covers them all). If you're assigned the CRJ, chances are good that you'll be heading to ORD...

    Mesa Bases

With regards to the CRJ, I would say that ORD, IAD and BNA are all going junior right now. I'd bet on getting ORD or IAD (just bigger bases)...BNA has a few new hires, but it's rather small.
