Which regional sans Compass can put additional airframes in writing? PSA maybe too, but I wouldn't bank on them keeping all those planes they've been promised for long. Envoy, Repupubic, ExpessJets, and maybe Skywest will all Probabaly end up smaller. I say maybe Skywest because they might use...
You're right about it not being rosy. In fact it's been down right $hitty. To further clarify, Mesaba was awarded 15 brand new 200's in 2005 with options for either 15 or 30 more, I can't remember. Anyway, soon after they got the 2nd one the filed for bankruptcy and the deliverys stopped. Of...
Jeez, where to start??? First there are 2007 hires captains on the 900. Mesaba did get 15 9e 200's. And Mesaba was never promised any ASA birds. They were however promised 15 Freedom 900's and then Delta reneged and ended up giving 10 to ASA.
Well I don't know. It seems to me that the decision to shut down Comair wasn't planned ahead and came after their inability to sell them off when they got rid of Compass and Mesaba. Nobody wanted them because Comair had some of the oldest planes in the DCI system, and a very senior pilot group.
Just like Comair once had leverage over Delta at one time too. I don't see Delta ever letting that happen again. That's why you see overlapping routes by several regionals since the Comair strike. And yes, I was being a bit of a smartass. Sorry
So with your Einstein logic, how would that benefit Delta to get rid of that part of their whipsaw strategy? And why would they want to pay more for someone else to operate them? Shutting down Endeavor would give Skywest the leverage it needs over Delta, and I just don't see Delta being backed...
Why do you think there's good news on the horizon? The one thing I remember being said a few months back from Inc. was "we're going to become smaller and focus on quality". Do you believe they were not serious?
I'd say there are over 200 from legacy Mesaba alone. Not sure how many are left from the Pinnacle side.Even with the new 12 year cap a lot are staying. I could be way off with my estimates, but when 9E hits there goal of 81 airplanes, that's roughly 1000 pilots. They say 1100. But my point is...
