    AAL1586: Orbiting over Catalina Island

The best part of the entire coverage was when the reporter asked him how long it would take to jettison enough fuel from a 737 that was scheduled to fly to Tronto so it was light enough to land safely in LAX. He said that to "dump" enough fuel in the 73 should take around 25 minutes. Gotta...

Fueling hedging and how to forcast fuel prices

Have another one. Then check to see where oil futures are traded. I'll give you a hint, It's not Dallas or Houston. By the way. . . new=you are the new jacka$$ of flightinfo. Knew= I knew you were a jacka$$ when you posted. Have a nice day.

    SWA "trips" pay?

open time goes to most senior person in domicile that bid for it (actually the most senior person in domicile that is under the cap), followed by the most senior person in the system seniority. The "cap" is 115% of the average monthly line totals. You can fly over it, but you lose seniority...

    Southwest Pilots!

That's exactly what I try to say, but being on probation it usually comes out something like this. . . . "yes sir".

Chicago Tribune article on Age 60...

So you're telling me that 60 is discrimination, but if you change the age to any other arbitrary number. . . say. . . 65, now that's not the same thing in 5 years? The point is, just like driving, there needs to be a cutoff somewhere. It was 60 when they brought their ball and bat, and it...

    SWA June 1st class

It may be a super shuttle ride to DFW, not sure there. As far as the hotel situation goes, the 4-19 class will be at the Holiday Inn Love Feild. There are so many people in training right now, they ran the Rennisance out! Good luck.

    SWA May classes?

Type+Minimum PIC time + 2 years, two months to the day. . . call to interview. Board 5 or 6 weeks later, call to continue 4 days later, class starts soon! (about 3mos after call to continue for me)

    April/May Training Classes

"in the pool" It is my understanding that you are in the pool at the end of the background check. You will not get a call or even know it is finished. JB asked me to call back 4 weeks after I talked to her on "the call" day. So here was the timeline: Dec interview. Jan 11-12 board. Jan...

    SWA training pay

I'm in the same boat. From what I understand, it's 44.15 X line guarantee (around 75TFP?). As far as how long on reserve. . . typical answer, depends on who's behind you. Looks like 3 classes a month for May, June and July 06 as per rumor. That sounds about like 180 folks with my math! Sounds...

    SWA April Classes

Anyone care to guess which interview dates would fill the 2nd April class (19th as rumor has it)? Also any new skinny on May class start dates yet?

    SWA April 2006 classes

I talked to the PD today, they confirmed a previous rumor heard here of 3 April classes, and 3 May. No dates on the May classes yet, but calls would be going out aprox. 4 weeks prior. Good luck! (not so) patiently waiting. . . . . .

    SWA April Classes

    SWA April 2006 classes

How many more days of interviews were there after Nov 16? It looks like maybe the rest of you folks from the Nov interviews may be in that Apr. 12 class? I was told about a month ago to expect a class sometime in early May. I hope "sometime in May" really means late April! Best of luck...

    SWA April 2006 classes

Monday-Thursday, first 2 full weeks of Dec. I think that's right, cause I was given the choice of Dec. 5-8 or 12-14.

    SWA April 2006 classes

Jan board folks. . . Has anyone from the Jan decision board had an update on expected class date lately? I am hearing a lot of Sep, Oct, Nov board info here. Just waiting to get that last piece of the puzzle figured out. Good luck to all. Looking to a "warm" welcoming party!

    SWA commute from Denver

Any estimates of how many classes behind you it would take to get MDW? PHX? HOU? Thanks for any info. Also, is OAK where everyone is still going out of training or are there a few making other JR. bases still? It's finally time to start thinking of these little details!!!

    SWA Feb Decision Board...

Jan board was for 2 months worth of interviews, so it actually ran 2 days, Wed and Thur. Feb 16 (Thur) is last I heard for Feb board. Good luck!
