Holding out for a better dispatching job?

I understand this is one man's opinion but I wouldn't bet the ranch on that statement. Maybe for a CAT I fleet but that doesn't apply to a CAT III fleet....just sayin' ~OWW~

Holding out for a better dispatching job?

That's what they did in my class. Consequently I am the ONLY graduate from my class that is working as a dispatcher. I'm STILL doing my time at a regional after 14 years. (And just so you know, income will never reach 6 figures at a regional.) ~OWW~

Using a TEMPO to determine if altrn is required

I can't tell you how many times I have to explain exactly that! It's an exemption. The rule is to always carry an alternate to destination under Part 121 rules....unless it meets the exemption. Yes, go with the most restrictive. If it was the other way around (being in the tempo as opposed to...

Woman sues Southwest over large passengers policy

Do they have the "right" to impose their size on others? I applaud SWA for having the "cajones" to enforce this policy. I see the ACLU getting a hold of this one....could get uglier.

AA/US Merger and the future of US SOC at PIT

I have a friend who is a fairly senior pilot at AA and he claims the unions signed off on it but the employees have not. He was ticked about the whole mess.

    Flying in Alaska

^ What he said! While Alaska has it's challenges, you learn to deal with them. Plan accordingly and be smart because it is big and remote. I lived and worked there for 30 years. In my years in aviation, I think the most challenging place was Denver.

    Coa/ual

We had a few apply but we also had more than a few get hired there when our department was gutted by 45% in the last few years. I'm guessing it still beats regional pay.

    Department Seniority

Just curious... What is your department's most junior dispatcher? ...most senior dispatcher? Our most junior is 11 years. Our most senior is 27 years. (Consequently we all will be "topped out" this year as well) Happy dispatching! ~OWW~
