Ditto what SWA GUY said. Here's hoping they go back and get it right. (but I have my doubts when the SWAPA president speaks of the "steep hill we have to climb")
Can someone who flies/flew the Q400 describe the de-icing system on that aircraft? Are there boots on the H and V Stab? Is it automatic? Is there an ice-detection system?
Thanks.
The chance of the AWA-Delta thing happening again depends on timing. Right now, we have about 33 jets flying for USAirways, and about 30 or so on order for Delta and United in the next 14 months. So if USAirways goes under soon, I think it'd be an easy fix, you just repaint and defer orders...
Florsheim Comfortechs...no beeps, comfortable, and made it through two winters of anti-iced ramps with no problem. But I agree, Deer Stags are comfortable too...and a little cheaper.
Can't find the link to it, but in the snippet in the paper last week about the 170 being certified by the FAA, it mentioned that Embraer planned on delivering 11 EMB-170s in the next month. We'll find out soon enough where they're going.
CHQ is rumored to start flying more for DL out of JFK with a possible base forthcoming...but it's just a rumor, I wouldn't base a decision on it. I do know DL just gave the green light to a huge expansion at JFK to be finished in '06.
Good luck, they both are good options.
Can't speak for ASA, but CHQ has about 820 pilots as of the Jan. 30 class. No others classes are "scheduled", but interviews have been ongoing last week and this coming week. I would have to agree that if one or the other gets a large portion of future Delta flying, it would be a wise choice...
If you take 30 oxygen canisters and wrap em in bubble wrap, and throw a tar on top of it---have you ever seen a tar burn? You land! NOW! I mean, right now. It will KILL YOU.
Everyone feel warm and fuzzy bout that one?
Rusty was piloting his own Lear. Mark Martin was going to get a CJ2, I believe. Tony Stewart has a Citation Bravo. Jeff Gordon was flying in a Falcon (200, I think)--although I think Brooke might be after it! I've seen Petty Enterprises with a corporate Jetstream 31, but that might be for the...
I agree with TAG2, the windshield wipers are probably the loudest thing about the Beechjet. I use cheapo Telex Echelons, and they do just fine. But all-in-all, it's not too loud, I've heard a lot worse.
On a side note, does anybody know of anyone looking for a Beechjet pilot?
