Nope, I'm usually gone before row 9 has gotten their junk out of the overheard. Aircraft is powered, everything is armed, FA's on board, pilots running up the jetway....pretty standard. We can leave with the APU running if we choose. Not seen that done often but it happens.
No degree is needed to be a competent professional pilot. I agree. A degree is needed however if you want to work for any of the top tier airlines in this country. I agree with that too. I've had guys I've flown with in the past ask for reco's. I don't write them for guys without degrees...
I was going to say something similar. No disrespect to SWA, it's a well run airline. That being said, sorry, if you can reach it in the 737, that's hardly "international" the way most of us think of it. Sure, Mexico is not the US but it's not polar flying either. I flew RJ's to Mexico and...
Wait, are you really insinuating that you know what AA will look like in 30 years? That's funny. How long have you been doing this? If any clown thinks they can predict what a US major will look like in even a decade, they're full of SHT. Maybe just sit back for a while, merging ain't easy...
90% of this post is noise GL. Honestly, there's no reason for a carrier like DAL which is enjoying well earned prosperity to force new hire pilots to pay for hotels. There is no excuse. That's a slap in the face that DALALPA should not tolerate.
If any of you guys want to send me a free $1000 headset, lemme know by PM. I won't tell. Until then, I don't hear any noise, I'll stick with the free headset provided.

That's too bad. The 73 is definitely not cool. Yuk! Never flown the Bus but I'd be happy to give it a try. Can't be that hard and there's no way it's less comfortable than the 73.
Anonymous board dude. No reason to get cranked up because a guy with no name says he'll cross a picket line that doesn't exits. He'd never say that and post his name. Therefore, he's full of sheet.
Meaningless. There is no unity. Never will be. Anyone preaching unity is either stupid or terribly naive.
There are only sides and interests. Occasionally the interests align and the sides stop hating one another. It's a forced merger. None of us wanted it and none of us care in the...
I use JB almost exclusively to get to work. They're fantastic. I've always been treated well by JB crews both front and back of the house. Getting listed is a pain, but generally, it's worth the hassle. Lots of FL commuters need JB to get to NY.
If you really want the job, spend the money. Do both sim and interview prep. If you're simply shopping airlines and aren't that picky and money is an issue, then perhaps you can save a few bucks by winging it.
That's not how I approached the process but I'm sure others were successful...
